Prologue of Blinded
As midnight struck and the moon was at the highest point, and when the stars were scattered like fireflies trapped in the pitch-black sky . A cool breeze rustled the leaves breaking the silent night. Under a tall Oak tree stood a young adult, in which they seemed to be holding a file containing documentation papers. As the young teen was pacing, the breeze made their straight slick black hair gently sway back and forth. They clutched the File in their light tan hands, where is he! Thought Maple. Maple scrunched up their eyebrows and their face into this angery smug face as if someone had just insulted them. Maple jumped at the sound a voice from the shadow of the trees.
“I was expecting an agent, not a moody teenager” said, what seemed like, a teenage male voice. Maple turned around to see glowing amber eyes in the shadows.
“your late” said Maple with a hint of annoyance in their voice.
“I’m not late…Your just early” said the voice.
“Ya, Ya, Ya, Now show yourself…” Maple trailed off looking at their wrists for the persons code name. Damn it… The name was now a smudged, blurry, sharpy mark.
“Oak” said the voice.
“what about an oak?” asked Maple raising their eyebrow as they looked at the person.
“My ‘name’ is Oak” said the voice. Maple felt their face turn red, hot with embarrassment, and struggled to hide it.
“Right...” Maple said trailing off again as they forgot what they asked earlier.
“Show yourself now 'Oak'.” Maple said as they slowly reached their arm behind their back and moved their foot forward and twisted their body slightly as Oak started to move out of the shadows, but suddenly stopped. Maple could only see black fancy shoes, and a gold and white watch. He is an Elite! Thought Maple as their eyes widen, they felt the hair on their skin raise for they knew that they couldn’t even match the speed of an Elite.
“If you wish for me to reveal myself to you, then may I ask why do you reach for a weapon?” Oak said suddenly sounding serious and his gentle gaze seemed to move towards threatening look.
“I don’t have to reveal anything if I don’t want, or have to.” Oak reached his hand out gesturing to the file that Maple had clutched in their hand, they held it close to their chest, not even realizing.
“File Now, Trainee” said Oak as he gestured to handing him the file again. Based on the hand Oak reached out, he was wearing a fancy suit, and a white, silk, long sleeve underneath.
“I’m not a trainee, I’m a Bronze. And how do I know it’s you? And not some spy attempting to gain information about the ‘Program’?” said Maple as they stood up straight and fixed their black sweater, the adjusted their jeans. They changed their gaze to a serious gaze. Before they did all this, they had twisted their oak brown, lined with green Watch so that it could listen and recorded what they were saying. Oak leaned closer to the light so then maple can see his tan, with a tint of pink lips
“I could very well say the exact same thing about you, However I already know plentiful about you, such as Maple is not just your code name, and that your formal name is…” and strong wind rustled the leaves of the tree, so she could not hear him, but she could see his lips. She flinched when she realized what he said. When Oak finished talking, he narrowed his eyes as if he were smirking, then straighten his face (of what Maple can see) and stood back in the shadows.
“Now, if you would be so generous may you hand over that File.” Maple hesitated then she put up her hand in a wait. Of what Maple could see, Oak arched his eyebrow, or at least it seemed like it.
“Code…” Maple said narrowing her eyes.
“Right...” Oak said scrunching up his hand pulling it slightly up and towards him, back into the shadows.
“B1S0xdwFx” Oak said with a sigh,
“You’re making it quite hard, harder than it should be Maple.” Maple closed their eyes and took a deep breath listening to their commander threw the earpiece she had.
“He is the one you were sent to find, Silver” Maple opened her eyes and reached out the folder to Oak. Oak grabbed the folder from Maple’s hand and Maples mouth tips edged up until she wore a grin. Maple felt her knife up her sleeve fall into her palm and she gripped on tight to the handle“May the kill be an honor”
