Training Begins
Rize walks into the office to clock in for the day. Cyrus and John stopped him.
"Hey, what's up?" asked Rize
"We got a letter for you," said Cyrus.
He hands Rize the invitation they got in the mail the other day. Rize reads it and sees he has been invited to take place in there.
"Oh, that is cool so we get to fight other DHO in the world?" asked Rize.
"That's right all the other get their best and they make them face off in a fight to see who is the best," said Cyrus.
"You and I were invited to this tournament," said John.
"I can't wait for this tournament then," said Rize.
"It should take place in two weeks," said Cyrus. "So, it gives you time to get ready for it."
"I expect you do not want to train with me?" asked John.
"Well, yeah. We are going to be rivals in this tournament. So, we should not train with each other," said Rize.
"Good, I feel the same," said John. "May the best man win."
John reaches his right hand for a handshake.
"Of course," said Rize.
Rize accepts his handshake and they parted ways to get started on their training.
Rize was walking through the woods on his grandfather's old estate. When Lord Patrick was alive he had an old mansion which was made for him, but Lord Patrick hated living in it, so he made himself a log cabin in the woods. Rize would reach this cabin still in one piece even after Lord Patrick's death.
"I am glad it's still here," said Rize.
Rize enters the cabin and sees it is still dirty since it was no one has been cleaning it.
"Alright, I think it's time I make this place feel," said Rize.
Rize would start to clean the inside of the cabin as he wished to do his training in these woods for the next two weeks. Rize would be finished cleaning when Judas arrives.
"Hey, look at this. If the DHO doesn't work out you could always be a good housekeeper," said Judas.
"Funny," said Rize.
"But it feels like Gramps is still here with us," said Judas.
"Yeah, it has been more than ten years now since he passed away," said Rize.
He then saw Anna walk in with a backpack on as she was going to train too.
"How was school before break?" asked Rize.
"It was great. I passed my test too," said Anna.
"That's good," said Judas.
"Why is there no cell service here?" questioned a voice outside.
They see a young girl walk into the cabin. She had long light-blue hair with light-colored skin and light-blue eyes. She wore a blue dress with black leggings with white shoes. She looked to be a bit older than Anna. This was Judas' Esper, Yumi Ultima. She was looking at her smart phone.
"Well, we are in the middle of the woods, Yumi," said Judas.
"I have to deal with this for the next two weeks. This sucks," said Yumi.
"You will live, plus you have Anna to keep you from being bored," said Judas.
"I guess that's fine then," said Yumi.
"Anyway, we should set up for the day," said Rize.
They would begin setting up their sleeping arrangements for the day and start a fire in the fireplace in the room and Rize starts making stew for dinner.
"Man, who taught you to cook?" asked Judas.
"Mugetsu, He was a good teacher I guess," said Rize.
"Oh, your demon brother," said Judas.
"Yeah, the one who gave me this arm," said Rize. "That reminds me, I should change my bandages."
"I have something for you so you don't have to bandage it all the time," said Judas.
He gets out a plastic bag from a sports store. He pulls out arm sleeves and left-handed gloves.
"Oh wow, I never thought to do this, would have saved some money too," said Rize.
Rize would start to take off the bandages. The girls turned around so they did not need to see Rize's left arm as it could still be scarred when they had to make it look like a human arm. But both Rize and Judas were surprised as his arm had changed. It was all black with red lines all over it his hand looked almost normal as he had spiky fingernails.
"It has changed?" questioned Rize.
"Demon's can sometimes can go through a metamorphosis," said Judas. "I am guessing it's something like that."
"Well it beats the torture session," said Rize.
Anna and Yumi saw it and turned back around.
"By the way, I was the one who recommended you for the tournament," said Judas.
"Really?" questioned Rize.
"Of course, this is a big tournament and a lot can happen if you join it. Promotions, money, and the fact you get to fight people from all over. I won that tournament when I was your age," said Judas.
"That's right, I think we went to go see it," said Rize.
"Yeah, after that I am a real big shot in the DHO now," said Judas.
"We should get some sleep after dinner as we will begin training for this tournament," said Rize.
"Right," said Judas.
