Declaration of Death
Chapter 0(Prologue): Declaration Of Death
Mayhem was caused one day in a place called Don Pueblo which is located in a larger area of land the size of a district Maldran. A major ruckus was caused as many from a notorious and powerful gang who controlled Maldran and many other areas gathered at Don Pueblo. This gang was known as Villa which is the last name of a man who went by Francisco Pancho Villa or most commonly and in short Pancho Villa who was the leader. The gang was composed of mostly Spanish people who came from the neighboring country of Mexico but there was still a very small percentage of differing ethnicities. Villa’s gang was great in numbers as they showed no hesitation in rummaging the entire town of Don Pueblo. The helpless and frightened people were forcefully dragged out of their comfort with the unfortunate firing and killing of a few here and there of those who had the misfortune of dealing with a short-tempered gang member.
While it seemed like a case of a gang raiding a defenseless town that wasn’t what was happening for the gang was already the overseers. They searched for something and interrogated every single person without shying away from violence to ensure only truthful answers were spoken. The children weren’t spared either as everyone was brought out and lined up like a herd to answer a furious gang for the recent happenings that took place on a saloon called Cantina de Salud. It was a popular establishment often used by Villa’s gang to drink and eat after a long day of atrocity. However, misfortune was brought onto the place as five of Villa’s men visited the place one early morning to have a drink at an odd time. A fight had broken out as those five men were killed which was a big deal as it was all done deep into Villa’s territory and the culprit was nowhere to be found.
Even though Villa’s gang had many enemies none ever dared to go against them and those who did struggled to reach Don Pueblo. And even then, to escape unscathed before any reinforcements arrived was quite the feat to pull off against them. However, the gang knew exactly who was responsible as they had been a target for a while but it was only on that day the one responsible had finally decided to be the aggressor. Four men stood at the conclusion observing the five dead men who were all shot and killed with perfect accuracy onto their heads. Except for one who to their curious surprise choked on his blood as his tongue was forcefully ripped off and left on the floor. A man who was crouched observing the tongue with a peculiar skin condition. He had brownish skin with a mix of a white and light blueish color. This man was known as Scalor’Friante or in short Scalor and he took notice of the odd scene of a fight which was heavily one-sided as only two out of the five dead were able to pull their trigger while the others had no chance to fully draw. It was more of an assassination than a fight.
(See! Because of your stupidity we now have to deal with this crazy fucking bitch!)
“Ya ves! Por tu estupides tenemos que buscar una pinche perra loca!” A man named Marco Salinas with darkish tan skin of a man who has spent a lot of his life out in the sun.
Marco yelled out insults and blamed Scalor for what had happened but Scalor paid no mind to him as his behavior and accusation were expected.
(Don’t start running off that mouth, Marco. Already have a headache needing to rush over here from Doroteo.)
“No empieces con tu maldita boca. Ya me duele la cabeza después de venir corriendo desde Doroteo” Another who sat down on one of the saloon chairs smoking a pipe named Vicente Cardinal who was the only one among everyone in the town to wear clean fancy clothing.
While they argued another was walking inside the saloon with a threatening physical presence due to the amount of muscle on display. This man was named La Bestia and he waited on Vicente before giving a report.
(How are we just going to let this imbecile off the hook!? Seriously!? We should kill this moron before he does any more stupid crap!)
“Cómo vamos a dejar que este imbécil sin castigo!? En serio!? Deberíamos matar a este idiota antes de que haga más estupideces!”
(Why wait for orders like a pitiful dog? Go ahead and try killing me.)
“Porque esperara asta que te den ordenes como un perrito marica? Ven trata de matarme.” Scalor stood up and faced Marco.
(HAHA! Calling me the pitiful dog when you won’t even fart until you get the order!)
“HAHA! Llamándome el perrito marica cuando tú mismo ni siquiera te tirarás un pedo hasta que te den la orden! Mendigo estupido!”
(Enough! I’m already here with orders from Villa depending on the findings of La Bestia. Now, both of you shut your fucking mouths so I can hear what he found.)
“Basta! Ya estoy aquí con ordenes de Villa dependiendo de lo que La Bestia encontro. Asique cierren sus malditas bocas para que pueda escuchar lo que encontró.” Vicente glanced over to La Bestia and nodded for him to speak.
However, before La Bestia spoke he was finding something foul through scent. He sniffed strongly which for those who wouldn’t know of La Bestia would find odd but those from the gang knew what those intentions meant. Others present in the building was another member known as El Depravado, a tall man whose body looked like it was unusually stretched to the brink as there was barely any skin resulting in the bones and organs nearly being visible. Further back was the bartender and owner of the Cantina de Salud. An old man in his fifties who had been frozen stiff ever since Villa’s gang appeared, he was utterly frightened and also one of the few witnesses to have seen it all from beginning to end.
La Bestia’s eyes locked onto that old man who was already past the limit of freight and yet all the eyes in that place also glanced over to him. The old man had no clue why they’d take an interest in him again after he had told them who exactly was responsible. However, La Bestia had suspicions of something more to that story. Something crucial that was unforgivable for someone who was living under the control of Villa. La Bestia walked over menacingly and the old man couldn’t do much other than try pleading.
(N-No! Please!)
“P-Por favor! No!” The old bartender raised his arms already giving up but La Bestia reached his arm out and grabbed him by his clothes from the shoulder and with tremendous strength pulled him out of that counter. (AAAHHH! Please! I-I told… you everything!) “AAAHHH! Por favor! L-Les dije… todo!”
(I know you’re hiding something else! Behind all that fear I can smell support for the person responsible for this!)
“Sé que estás ocultando algo más! Detrás de todo ese miedo puedo oler apoyo al responsable de esto!” La Bestia told the old man not falling for his pleas or ways with words.
The old bartender was at a loss for words and hope as there was no pleasant fate that would await him. He looked at the floor as tears flowed down his eyes as he chose to accept it over having the delusion of a grand miracle happening that would allow him to see the next morning.
(You people… you have it coming. S-She… She… told me everything. T-The things… the things you all did to her… The things you people do to others… C-Consider this day… your day of reckoning… A reckoning you all cannot escape!)
“Ustedes… merecen todo lo que viene. E-Ella… me contó todo… T-Toda las cosas que todos ustedes le hicieron a ella… C-Consideren este día… como una declaración… de muerte. Una muerte sin escape!” The old bartender bravely spoke out against the gang members.
It was the first time that man ever dared to speak up against such dangerous people as his entire life he had been at their mercy only able to watch as Villa’s gang took advantage of Don Pueblo. The old man was proud of himself and in his last moments, all he could do was laugh with such joy as it felt like he finally got rid of such a heavy burden that was held for his entire life. The courage was gained after he met someone named Helena Velacruz whom he placed all his hopes on to put an end to Villa’s gang. Shortly after La Bestia forcefully grabbed the old bartender by his head and with such tremendous might La Bestia brutally ripped open the old bartender’s mouth, killing him. The other gang members were indifferent to such a sight and neither felt remotely threatened by that old man’s final message to them.
(Bravo! Hey! Look at this guy! Let’s all clap for this guy right here for having the loosest screw on his head!)
“Bravo! Ey!” Marco frantically draws attention to everyone. “Mire a este tipo, aplaudalo por tener el tornillo más flojo del mundo! Es un milagro que hayas vivido tanto tiempo!” Marco continued to throw insults towards Scalor.
(To think you’d be that afraid of a mere woman.)
“Quién sabía que le tendrías miedo a una mujer.” Scalor wasn’t biting into Marco’s words.
(Don’t be playing the fucking idiot! Mere woman!? What kind of a fucking mere woman can kill five men!? What in the hell!? If mere women can do this type of crap then fuck me man… All this time women loved getting beaten and raped!? You absolute fucking-)
“No actúes el maldito estúpido! Solo una mujer!? Que clase de pinche cualquiera mendiga mujer puede matar a cinco hombres!? Si cualquiera mujer puede hacer este tipo de mierda… pues maldita sea! Todo este tiempo a las mujeres les gusta ser violadas y maltratadas!? Eres un pinche-”
(Marco! If you yap another word. We’re going to have problems, understood?)
“Si vas a ladrar otra palabra. Vamos a tener problemas, entendido?” Vicente had it with Marco’s antics.
Marco wasn’t pleased and left the saloon without another word.
(Scalor, starting now. You will not be allowed in Doroteo or Maldran until you bring her head. Villa’s direct order to you.)
“Scalor, empezando ahora. No podrás entrar a Doroteo o Maldran hasta que traigas la cabeza de ella. Orden directo de Villa a ti.” Vicente told Scalor whom understood clearly his words and meaning.
(Send my regards to Villa.)
“Envía mis saludos a Villa.” Scalor tipped his hat and left the saloon to begin his hunt.
La Bestia walked forward to Vicente not pleased with the situation.
(Don’t like it. He’s hiding something foul. Like that bartender.) (We should just kill him. Before he finishes whatever he has cooking.)
“No me gusta. El esta escondiendo algo. Como ese Viejo.” La Bestia cracked his knuckles. “Deberíamos matarlo. Antes de que termine lo que esta planeando.”
(Yeah… I know we can kill him. But not without a hefty cost. Besides, this land is full of foulness. If Scalor went against the gang or Villa, he’d have done it long ago.)
“Sé que podemos matarlo…. Pero nos va a costar mucho haciéndolo. Además esta tierra está llena de maldad. Si hubiera querido ir contra la pandilla, lo habría hecho hace mucho tiempo.” Vicente stood up and took a short lap around the saloon having one last look at the scene. “Por ahora dile a todos que vigilen sus movimientos. Y a Helena Veracruz, ofrece una recompensa. No creo que se meta con esos blancos del lado Este pero es mejor que muchos la buscen.” (For now, tell everyone to keep watch of his movements. As for Helena Velacruz, put out a bounty. Don’t think she’ll get involved with those whites from the east but best to have her wanted by many.)
(Vicente, is her soul that strong?)
“Vicente, la alma de ella es fuerte?” El Depravado asked as they saw how wary Vicente felt.
(… Don’t know, but it’s a soul much rarer than anything we’ve ever seen. Rarer than Mary’s. And out of all the sacrifices… it chose her.)
“… No lo sé, es una alma extraña que hamos visto. Más extraño que el de la Maria. Y de todos los sacrificios… escogió a ella.”
Vicente who was about to leave forgot about the tongue on the floor and accidentally stepped on it. La Bestia and El Depravado were dumbfounded as Vicente found it amusing how he ended up stepping on the tongue. So much so he abruptly laughed hysterically at the insane thought as to how such an insignificant thing could have could have grown to a point that would result in Vicente’s shoes getting dirty.
