Chapter 1 Phillipines

Cindy and I rented a

small home on the beach, which is private. We wanted to spend quality time relaxing and having fun. We went grocery shopping once we arrived and took our groceries, household items,  luggage, toiletries, and gear we would use on our vacation. We rented a hummer which could hold everything comfortable.  We finally arrived at the beach home. A boat was attached to the back of the hummer. We had picked it up before we went grocery shopping. Cindy backs the hummer to the water and gets out. She told me to go to the beach house and she would meet me there.  She unhooks the boat, and I back up further so the trailer can be in the water with the boat. Cindy starts the boat and backs it off the trailer, and steers it to the dock. I drive the hummer with the attached trailer to the beach home. Cindy jogs to the beach home, and we start unloading the groceries first inside than everything else. We put the groceries away.  We look around to see what this place has to offer.  We decided to find the main bedroom and bring our luggage and toiletries to the bedroom and bathroom. Cindy places our toiletries and other household items to the bathroom.  I start unpacking our luggage's.  Cindy comes and joins me to unpack our clothes and shoes.  We get it done with both of us doing it.  We are finally done and decide to make some stir fry for lunch. The food was delicious. We cleaned everything up and went with our hats, sunglasses with long sleeve uv shirt and uv golf pants with our slides on with sunscreen on our exposed feet and leave to take a nice walk on the beach.  This was our first time in this part of the Philippines. We rented a two bedroom beach house only since it was only us. The walk with the breeze felt good. We saw a man selling snow cones. We went to buy two for us.  Cindy bought one with mango juice and I went with cherry flavor.  We made our way back to the house and sat on the deck under the umbrellas, watching the water,  and people having fun while we ate the snow cones.

" Julia, let's go fishing and see if we can catch a few fish. I feel like making fish tacos.  I know you not into fish tacos.  I will grill a fish for you. What do you say?"  " Sounds like a plan. I will make the side dishes. "

We finished our snowcones and went inside to get our life jackets and fishing gear.  Julia locks the door and we make our way down to the boat with our life jackets on. Cindy gets on the boat first. I hand her the two fishing poles and gear. She places it on the floor of the boat

and then places the key in the ignition to start it.  I untie the ropes and toss them inside the boat and get in the boat. I am working on putting the lures and weights on each fishing pole while my wife steers the boat for a place we can fish safely.

" Julia that man there  just told me this is a good place to fish. They have been catching fish all day here since this morning.  He and his family sell them."

Cindy turns off the engine and lowers the anchor so we can fish.  Once she done, I hand her a fishing pole. We both cast them in the water and wait for hopefully a fish to bite on the fish lures.   We talk about what we will be doing in the Phillipines.  This time we just want to enjoy the beach and water.  There are restaurants in the area but we will only go eat their if we don't feel like cooking.  We bought food and stuff for our entire 6 days of us being here.  We plan on leaving on Sunday morning.  The following week we will stay home and relax.  Cindy has been putting way too many hours and is stressing a lot. I was the one who insisted on this vacation and staying home for a week. I sent an email to all of our employees that we weren't to be bothered unless it was an emergency and no one could deal with it Cindy didn't care for that and we got into a verbal argument over it.

We were out in the lake for over two hours before we caught a few legal size fish. We were now in the beach house. Cindy was cleaning them and I was making rice and salads for us both. She was finished and took all the fish mess outside and threw it in the trash. She returns and tells me they need to pick up the trash because it's full and she couldn't close the lid all the way. She figures cats will come and get the guts. She washes up and takes the fish outside to cook the fish. We have the windows open and I turned the air purifier on to get the awful fish aroma our of the home. The purifier immediately shows red because the stinch is so bad.  Cindy is done before the rice is cooked.  She starts cutting up the fish for the tacos then uses a different knife after she washes the cutting board to cut up the cilantro, chili and cheese for her tacos.  She washes the knives and cutting board and places them in the dish drainer. She gets the tortillas to fry them.  I am working on the salad. I'm done with the salad and rice. I wash the items I used and place them in the dish drainer too. I get two bottles of beer and open them up and place them on the kitchen table. I set the table and bring the two plates so we can serve ourselves our food. We both now are seating down and enjoying our dinner.

" Julia,  tomorrow morning let's wake up and go for a jog before we have breakfast. I will make us our breakfast.  I  forgot to buy coffee."

" Good because  you need to cut down on it. You will survive six days without it.  Stop rolling your eyes they may get stuck."

We finished our dinner and clean up. Cindy went to clean the grill and returned to wash up. We locked the door and went to take a shower.  Our guns are on each night stand. We are done and in bed just relaxing and watching the stars from the window. We fall asleep.
