Prologue: Shadows of the Past
Long before Tiara came into their lives, the pack had been through its own trials. Mira had been a simple healer, skilled in gathering herbs and tending to the wounds of warriors.
Her knowledge of the forest was vast, passed down from generations of women in her family. But it wasn’t until a fateful day when Alpha Kael was injured in battle that their paths truly crossed.
Meeting Alpha Kael
It was a moonless night when everything changed. The ambush had been swift, cruel, and unexpected. Tiara’s mother, a renowned healer who could speak to the trees and manipulate the elements, had fought valiantly but died in childbirth, drained of her supernatural strength. Her father, the Alpha of their pack, had vanished into the chaos of the attack, lost without a trace.
In the aftermath, only Mira, her mother’s cousin and loyal assistant, remained to protect Tiara, who was barely a year old. Swearing an oath to her fallen kin, Mira took the infant into her arms, vowing to raise her as her own.
“She’s my daughter now and forever,” Mira whispered, naming the child Tiara as she held her close. The promise in her voice was resolute, born from love and grief. But with Tiara came secrets, powers inherited from her mother that even Mira didn’t fully understand.
It had been a long day of gathering herbs when Mira felt an odd pull. A savory, almost addictive scent of herbs hung in the air, calling to her senses in a way she couldn’t ignore. With little Tiara nestled in her arms, Mira followed the smell through the dense forest. Each step closer made the scent stronger, more intoxicating, until she stumbled upon a scene that would change her life forever.
There, lying in the shadows of the trees, was Alpha Kael. His powerful wolf form was collapsed on the forest floor, surrounded by his equally injured packmates. But it wasn’t just any battle wound that had brought them down—Mira could sense it immediately. It was wolfbane, a deadly substance feared by all wolves.
“Stay with me,” she whispered as she worked quickly to clean the wound, her hands moving with practiced precision.
Kael, in his weakened state, could barely keep his eyes open, but he remembered the calm and strength in her voice. Kael’s body was writhing in pain, his breath ragged, his fur matted with sweat and blood. The poison was seeping into his veins, weakening his connection to his wolf. Mira felt a rush of urgency, knowing she had to act quickly.
Placing Tiara on a patch of soft grass, Mira knelt beside Kael and quickly began to gather herbs from her pouch. Her fingers worked deftly, mixing the healing leaves and roots, but she knew it wouldn’t be enough. Wolfbane wasn’t something easily countered by mere herbs.
Just as Mira was about to apply the poultice, she heard a soft giggle—Tiara, start laughing and smile. Mira glanced over her shoulder, startled by the sound. Tiara’s small face was lit up with joy as she watched the trees sway gently above her, her laughter like a melody in the air.
And then something extraordinary happened. A soft, golden light began to emanate from Tiara, surrounding her like a gentle glow. Mira watched in stunned silence as the light seemed to spread outward, reaching toward Kael and his packmates. The aura was warm and soothing, and as it touched them, the tension in their bodies seemed to ease.
The poison in Kael’s veins began to dissipate, and his labored breathing became steady.
“What happened to me? I feel no more pain but ticklish feel inside my body and smell something really sweet and tasty” Alpha Kael said inside his head/
Meanwhile Kael, still dazed, felt the pain lifting. His wolf was howling inside him, urging him to wake, to acknowledge the presence that had saved them. When his eyes finally fluttered open, he was met with the sight of Mira, her face filled with both relief and wonder.
“Who are you? What you just did to me? Are you witch? Asking Kael.
“ I am Mira, I live nearby here” said Mira.
But it wasn’t just Mira who caught his attention. A sweet, intoxicating scent filled his senses—a rich, warm fragrance of raspberries mixed with something more... magical. It was a scent he would never forget. His wolf stirred within him, recognizing something primal, something destined.
“Our mate,” Kael’s wolf growled in his mind, a sense of fierce possession taking hold. “She saved us. Stay and mate.”
Kael’s gaze shifted to the small bundle on the grass—the baby who had somehow healed him. Tiara’s tiny face was beaming as she reached out to the trees, and in that moment, a group of fairies appeared, their wings shimmering in the evening light.
They danced around Tiara, sprinkling her with sparkling dust, as if acknowledging her power and her importance.
Mira, still shocked by what had transpired, met Kael’s eyes. “She’s... special,” Mira whispered. “Her laughter—it healed you. I’ve never seen anything like it.”
Kael, though weak, managed a smile as he looked at Tiara. “She’s beautiful,” he murmured, his voice filled with awe. “And powerful. Your daughter?”
Mira hesitated for a moment, then nodded. “Yes, but... she’s more than that. She was born under strange circumstances. I’m still not sure of the full extent of her abilities.”
Kael’s gaze softened as he looked at the baby who had saved his life. The fairies continued to flutter around her, their dust sparkling in the air like stars. In that moment, Kael made a decision.
“My daughter,” he said firmly, his voice filled with affection. “She’ll be mine as much as yours. Our pack will protect her.”
