Chapter 1
I woke up to a loud bang and my car swaying, steadying myself and smoothing my relaxed hair, i unplugged the seatbelt and got out of the car to find out how bad the damage was.
The rear had been hit and the backlights were completely shattered. The owner of the black Maybach got out, a suited driver with a balding head, he offered his card and apologized frantically.
He promised to pay for the repair and was gone before i uttered a word. I take a spin and almost fall as i twist ankle, catching the car just on time before i land on the road butt first.
Getting back in the car, i drive over to my apartment on the westside of the city. I park the car and get out while grabbing my things.
'Hey mama' I roll my eyes before turning to look at the stark built 5'5 man looking at me. 'Hey Pete'.
' You're back late today'
'That shouldn't concern you ' I try to walk past him but he grabs me by my hair and yanks me back.
' Now now you don't have to be rude miss, i just want us to jave fun.'
'I'm not going through this with you right now'
' It doesn't matter if you will, I'm doing whatever i want to do.' he growled.
'Let go of my hair you bastard!' I said raising my voice.
' Don't you have any shame?' We both turn to see who said the words, i see Jenna approaching us and Pete lets go of me.
' see you next time love' He says and blows me a kiss before brushing past Jenna. I sigh inwardly before flashing a small smile to Jenna , she rolls her eyes and walks away grumbling. I get into the elevator and press 12 the floor my apartment is on. Getting to my door I find it ajar, knowing they already found where I was, I decide to get on with it.
My house is a mess, the complete opposite of how I left it, A man is seated in the only seat left unharmed sipping coffee from my favorite mug. I take in a long breath and walk to him keeping my emotions in check.
' You didn't have to butcher my house you know ' I say as I get down to pick pieces of what's left of my favorite jar
' You acting like a bitch in a country that doesn't solve murder cases is what i find amusing, Now will you be kind enough to tell me where the drive is.' he says.
' I've told you time and time again I don't have it.' I say with a hint of annoyance.
'You're testing my patience young lady'he spits back.
' And you're wasting my time old man, i don't have it I have no clue who has it and even if I did I wouldn't let you know.'
He took another sip of the coffee and stood up coffee in hand walking towards me, I got up and looked at him as I prepared myself for the impending pain. His hand found its way to my throat and the mug was crushed on my head, I flinched from the pain but made no noise. He flung me over to the other side of the room and I landed on what to be my couch.
He walked to me and crouched in front of me, pulling my hair, he pulled me and knocked my head against the wall. Blood trickled down my face but i kept my mouth mum.
' You're still as stubborn as ever I see.' Blood got into my eyes and i had to keep them closed to lessen the sting. A hard slap across my face had me seeing stars. He stood up and kicked me hard i tasted blood before my eyes. Before i endured any more pain his phone rang, he picked it up and mumbling a few words he left, not even sparing a glance to me.
Using the last of all my remaining strength i crawled to the door opened it and collapsed, my only hope that someone would pass by and see me before I died.
I winced as the needle pierced through my skin, it wasn't as painful as my other bruises but I'm still just a girl. The nurse looked at me but i was facing the window, she tried initiating a conversation but all she got was a humms from me.The doctor came in and and looked at the nurse who shrugged her shoulders.
'Do you know who did this to you?' she askednin a gentle voice.
'No'. I know they didn't believe me but they couldn't help me even if i told them the truth.
'Would you like to press charges?' she persisted.
'No.'
'The police can help you get away from all this' she said again.
'See, I'm grateful that you care but i don't want to press charges neither do I want to be involved with the police okay?' and with that I get back to staring through the window planning on my next steps, in a dejected sigh she turned to leave.
'Could you lend me your phone?' I ask before she leaves, 'sure.' she hands me her phone and i dial a number, the phone rings twice before its picked up.
'Hello, its me , I need you to come see me at the hospital.' i say in one breath, i dont give any chance for a response and i hang-up. I send my location before returning the phone with a thanks murmur.
