Emily had always known high school would be different, but she never expected the changes it would bring to her friendship with Aiden. He was already making waves on the soccer team, catching the eye of the popular crowd. She couldn’t help but feel a pang of jealousy and worry as they drifted into separate social circles. Still, they made a promise—every Friday would be their time, just the two of them. But when Aiden fails to show up for their first Friday, Emily feels the first tremor of unease.
