Chapter 2
A few days later, Amir was on a bus to Turkey, his heart heavy yet resolved. He met Ziad, an old acquaintance from his village who had similar ambitions of a better life. They agreed to help each other through the journey, not realizing the turns their friendship would take.

When they finally reached the shore, exhausted and soaked, Amir looked at the sky, thanking God for delivering them safely. But this was only the beginning.
