"Are you looking for action - adventure - excitement - surprises??? Then, Abdo has written this anime-style adventure for you! I haven’t had too many chances to read screenplays, and boy was I thrilled for the opportunity to judge Abdo’s work. Without giving too much away, because that would ruin the surprises, the storyline follows Lara and her friends from school on a wild rescue mission to save their friend, Azziza, who has mysteriously disappeared. With Azziza’s older brother in tow, the group finds themselves up against some pretty intense obstacles - ruthless mercenaries and the seemingly unstoppable Phoenix! Do they win in the end? You’ll have to read it to find out! ;D The characters are great! Lara is a ball of quirky confidence that you definitely want on your team. Everyone brings something to the table in this tale. The storyline is intriguing with some deeper themes that I kind of wish were brought out a little more. I really enjoyed Abdo’s writing style - he’s got a lot of talent and with some continued practice is going to go far! Inkitt gets a bit tricky with formatting (ask any of the authors out here), and screenplay formatting has its own intricacies. Despite this, Abdo managed to make his screenplay quite readable. A future edit should include Scene Headings to help set the stage a bit more. Grammatics and technical errors were minor - a few tense issues here and there and word usages, but not enough to make a huge difference in the reading. A good edit job will remedy all of this easily. This young author is well on his way to becoming a screenwriter in an anime production and I hope to see his works on the big screen someday! *This review is in accordance with the judging criteria for the Green Exchange Awards 2025."

The story is an exciting blend of humor, action-packed fights, and heartfelt moments. The writer’s engaging style brings it all to life, making it a thoroughly enjoyable read. Definitely worth your time for the laughs and thrills! "

"I loved this book. It was different because of the way it was set up like a script but I quickly learned to love it. I love Lara and Walid's characters. Lara is bold and outgoing while Walid is more of a protective older brother character. I'm glad that justice was served to those who deserved it. There were no grammar mistakes that I noticed which made the story run smoother. This was a great book overall. Happy writing :)"

"So I read this story in just one go and wasn't disappointed! I will re-review it when I've finished it. The plot is great, the characters are likeable (especially Lara) and a great villain. It reminds me a lot of X-men. It has a lot of action scenes that are quite emotional and intense. Author, you've written this very well and I can't wait to read more <3 "

"After reading the first three chapters of *Secret of the Phoenix*, I’m really drawn into the story’s mix of action, humor, and mystery! Each chapter has kept me eagerly turning the pages, especially as Lara’s unshakeable loyalty to her friends and her sharp wit bring so much life to each sccene. I love how her humorous interactions contrast with the high-stakes danger they’re facing, particularly in the showdown with the Phoenix. The moment of unmasking Azziza in Chapter 3 was definitely a highlight - it's packed with emotion and tension. Also, each character’s unique personality shines through, adding layers to the adventure and making me excited to see how they’ll handle the new threat of the mercenaries. Overall, this story is such an entertaining blend of action, suspense, and humor. Can’t wait to see what happens next!"

"Great story! I really enjoyed the plot! The humour was actually hilarious! Specially at the start when Lara was breaking the fourth-wall and her friends were getting sick of it! The humour was well-handled with Lara and her friends! The part when Lara fought the Phoenix and got sick of it was funny! 🤣 I really admired Lara's determination to saving Azziza, it showed how great of a friend she is. And I really enjoyed Lara's character the most! She is the type who never took anything serious, and jokes when taking things serious at the same time. She's brave and a true friend! 💥 Lara's and Azziza's friendship was great too! When Azziza asked Lara if she was a burden, Lara reply was simply great. She confessed to Azziza about her forgiveness is what admired Lara and I thought it was a great moment between their friendship. The story gave out great dialogues, great plot, and a great ending! Great work! 💙"
