Ride or die
"This story was good. I really liked how they kept dreaming and adding to what they were doing. The shop...the kids space...the space for the local artist...and so on. "
Great read

Great Plot, Stagnant Flow
"I utterly adore the strength shared between the MCs. They both have perils to face, pasts that haunt them, new realities that bring new obstacles to overcome. It's in those moments they have to choose to fight or flee, to lean on those around them or fall to the lie that they must deal with it alone. The message & dynamic that is built within this story is beautiful. Something rarely highlighted. Choosing to live life side by side another is filled with challenges, from varied povs, emotions, & personal histories clashing to outside forces interfering. Relationships are hard. Real hard-won relationships are not all lust, sex, & passion. Granted, I feel the MCs in this book face more than their fair share of realistic hard-hitting outside interference between these fast-paced chapters, but life sometimes isn't fair. Sometimes, it is one rough ride after another. I appreciate stories where sex isn't plastered in grand details, I don't enjoy books that might as well be porn in disguise. With that said, the MCs sex life is non-existant to the reader. So, props. That's super rare. (I'm not a prude, I have an imagination & don't need a picture painted out in all its glory.) My negative reaction to this story is the simple fact that every chapter seems to make up/follow the same layout, making the story feel flat. From the beginning to the end of roughly each chapter is "here's life at the moment, it's going good or looking up, I have loved ones & my past won't hold me back, uh oh something arises (maybe a personal challenge to better life, the past comes back to haunt, or a present obstacle arises), 1 or both MCs must face, encouragement comes & you're not alone, problem temporarily/completely overcome, & ends with loving life/looking forward to what comes next." Again, a great plot with an amazing message, but the flow feels ridged, & after a few chapters, it was predictable. Not necessarily the challenges faced, of course, but the structure. I definitely look forward to checking out book 2 & I'm grateful this story was shared."
