" Not usually my cup of tea, but I’ve got to admit, as far as novels about Islam go on Inkitt, this one is a standout. It’s got that introspective, almost diary-like feel—kind of like Twilight without the flowery bits. Which makes it easy to slip into the protagonist’s thoughts. And that’s where this book shines. Not all of us can have poems in the soul with the way we word things. It’s not just about Islam; it’s about a woman wrestling with where she fits in it. The hijab struggle is particularly something I'd enjoy seeing some improvement on. There’s a real depth to how she unpacks not just her own feelings but also her mother’s perspective; how she covers, whether she covers, why she does or doesn’t. Even when she met grace we don't know how grace feels about her others hijab and I'd love to see that. Or even if she stays in Islam with out covering like some do. That level of detail is something I personally appreciate, being blind. It helps me picture the world she’s in, the tension between tradition and personal choice. One thing I’d love to see more of in future chapters is how her family fits into this internal debate. There are Muslim women who don’t cover but still fast, still pray ; where does she stand in all that? That tug-of-war between faith and autonomy could be explored even more. Overall, it’s compelling, honest, and not just another one-sided narrative. It’s got room to dig deeper, but as it stands, it’s one of the better ones out there on this topic. GIVE IT A TRY!
"Even if you’re not a Muslim or a religious person in general, this book is definitely worth a try! Faith tells the story of a devoted mother teaching her children the ways of Islam, as she was taught in her homeland of Bangladesh. However, after moving to the US with her husband, Hasan, she quickly realizes the challenges of raising her children in a multicultural society. I don’t want to give too much away, as I’m only at chapter 8 and just getting started! ^^ But if you’re a religious parent struggling to connect with your children, I highly recommend giving this book a read!"
Thought Provoking!
"The author asked me to read up to five chapters, but I’ve already read more, and I don’t plan to stop! The way the writing makes you think is such a unique trait—something I haven’t found on Inkitt until I came across this book! I think the book will be most relatable and make the most sense for Muslim readers. The Islamic concepts the author explains are easy to understand, though there are some phrases that may feel unfamiliar to non-Muslim readers. However, this isn’t distracting at all—in fact, it’s not even the main focus of the story. The real highlight of the story so far (from the 8 or 9 chapters I’ve read) is about a God-fearing Muslim woman living in a liberal country. She tries so hard to teach her family Islamic values and apply them in their daily lives, only to face challenges when her child (or children—since I’m not sure about the son yet) does something frowned upon in Islam. Since the cover clearly hints at it, I’ll mention it here: joining a beauty pageant. Every Muslim mother in the world would surely feel concerned in this situation, including Ferdous, the mother in this story. Despite her efforts to provide her family with a solid Islamic education, she finds herself shaken to the core. She begins questioning her own beliefs: Has she been right all along? Is this the only life we, as humans, will ever live, or does the hereafter truly exist? What will happen next? YES, WHAT WILL HAPPEN? I don’t know either, haha! That’s why I’ll DEFINITELY keep reading this story! I noticed it has 33 chapters (give or take), and I will absolutely return to it—God willing—once I finish reviewing other books. Great writing, author! It’s easy to follow and, best of all, it really makes you think!"
From Catholic to Atheist, I find this book intriguing
"Obviously, since I’m no longer Christian but atheist, I find this book very interesting. Is this what some people believe, very devoted to their religion. I’ve loved studying Islam and a book about it is certainly something I’ve probably never come across, this kind of book.
