Stunning and intricate
"I feel incredibly grateful that this talented author is sharing a book like this with everyone - wow! The length seems intimidating (😉😏), but it goes by so quickly. The plot is phenomenal, with many twists- some predictable, and some completely out of left field. Love the slow burn, and the power of friendship 😅🌈 Obviously still in editing, but even still it seems much more polished than many other Inkitt books I've read. REALLY well done, and I signed up for the author's newsletter and followed in hopes of being alerted to any new books, especially a sequel or a spin-off for one of the many wonderful supporting characters."

Worth the Read
"The worldbuilding is lush, immersive, and original—Draconians, Shifters, Spellcasters, and a deep mythology with Gods. Every element felt vivid, pulling me deeper with each chapter. The bond between Alix and Veronica is dark, magnetic, and deeply forbidden. Veronica, originally an Omega, wouldn’t be expected to have a fated mate, and dragon shifters don’t believe in fated mates at all. That alone is such an intriguing premise. The dragon’s primal need versus Alix’s emotional restraint creates so much tension you can practically feel it through the page. That said, there were moments in the middle where the pacing slowed. It became a loop of her wanting him, him wanting her, but neither quite giving in. He hurts her while refusing to fully reject or accept her. Not cool, Alix! I really wished Veronica had stood up for herself more. She gives him ultimatums, but they don’t stick, especially when the bond is starving. It would’ve been so satisfying if, the first time he came back, she’d slapped him or told him no. There’s a scene at college that threw me for a second. It felt like a PE class, which is odd for a college setting, but considering the fantasy world, I rolled with it. One other note: I actually wanted more from the chapters where Veronica was taken. That part of the plot flew by, and I think there was a real opportunity to build even more emotional weight and tension there. Overall, it’s a great read and I highly recommend it for fans of fated-mate tension, forbidden romance, and complex magical worlds. I’m definitely ready for Book Two. "

"This was. great read. I learned to hate Varina early on, thinking she was up to no deacons good. You built a believable world with unique dynamics and threw in two people who stumbled their way into happily ever after. Well done. My only critique is minor, a few words that didn’t fit, and a punctuation error, at least that was the only one I saw. They are simple fixes. Now, i’m going to lose sleep on book 2."

So much love for this story
"Wow, what a journey I've been on with this book. Five years ago, I came across the very first draft. It had around 6 chapters already written. Since then, it's been rewritten a few times, and I've devoured each one. Each draft telling the same story in a slightly different way. This last one is so much better. Once I started, I couldn't stop. When I stopped, it was all I thought about. It consumed me in a way no other book has ever done. The characters and the plot are described in such a way that they became real, and something I immersed myself in. It is nail biting and exciting. The romance is heartwarming and heartbreaking. Very few books make me cry real tears...this one did. I felt Alix and Veronica's love deep in my soul. To the author, C L Moutzalias, amazingly well done"
