Theodora, hija de agricultores en Rodas, está destinada a ser esclava y sacrificada al cumplir la mayoría de edad por órdenes de Hebe, hija de Hera y Zeus, luego de que las diosas se enterasen que Ariadna, madre de theodora daría a luz a un semidiós producto de la infidelidad de Zeus. Hera le dará la oportunidad de salvar su vida y al conocer a la joven emancipada se enamora de ella, pero la diosa sigue sin dejar su obsesión por mantenerse al lado de Zeus, haciendo que Theodora suplique y agonice por su amor siendo capaz de cualquier cosa por ella. Las cosas entre los dioses no mejoran cuando Hede empieza a interesarse románticamente en la amante de su madre al mismo tiempo que Zeus, desatando la ira de Hera y una disputa en el olimpo que también podría afectar la vida de los mortales.
La estructura de esta obra es similar a los clásicos de mitología griega para que el lector tenga una mejor experiencia en el ambiente de la historia.
