"The protagonist, Lita, is someone who is highly relatable in her struggles. She wants to belong, to be valued, but is constantly pushed aside because of what she is (a hybrid). Her internal conflict—between embracing her strength and hiding to avoid pain—creates tension and investment. Supporting characters like Teo and Lita’s brother also help ground her: their relationships feel emotionally real, with small moments that show loyalty, unspoken care, and compassion of Lita’s feelings (doubt, self‑rejection, fear of being unaccepted) recur quite frequently without always bringing new insight. While they are central to her character, the recurrence of similar internal struggles sometimes makes the narrative feel a little circular, rather than increasingly evolving. The tension of the romantic arc plays well, particularly because there’s a foundation of emotional connection (friendship, in some cases, or long familiarity) rather than love‑at‑first‑sight. That helps make their romantic moments more satisfying. There is also a nice contrast between what she expects (rejection, loneliness) and what actual connection feels like, which is compelling for readers who enjoy character growth. As someone who has read the original Lunaverse books it did take some adjustment to some of the changes but the amazing characters the author has written along with the super interesting story hit it out of the park. I cannot wait to read the continuing books."

I love how much more mature Asher is (and Lita), and I love how the shift in their dynamic has allowed for a more natural rhythm to the story than the hot and cold relationship from Dr Luna. I can't wait to see what else happens in this book! "
