Chapter 1
Billy
'Oh! Haha! Look at you, you look fabulous!' said Agatha, seeing me standing in my new school uniform.
This was not how I imagined senior year to start for me. What kind of a principal makes us wear school uniforms at the start of a school year?
I know!
Our new school principal!
I was so annoyed! I was so looking forward to this year but now I was dressed like this on my first day as a senior at Eastview Academy. I suppose one thing I learned in life was that anything can happen. Like your old school principal might die for a new and much more wicked one to take over. She sometimes even gave me the creeps and that's a lot coming from me who was a witch.
'You're being annoying,' I said to, Agatha fully aware that she was being sarcastic. This was all for her entertainment. 'I better not find out you had a hand in this!' I warned squinting my eyes at her as she was literally in my mirror while I was fixing my hair.
She held back her hands in innocence. 'Hey, I'm a ghost, remember? I can't use any magic!'
'Right...' I rolled my eyes as she also had to remind me of another sad fact about my fate. I was being haunted by a ghost.
And that ghost was Agatha Harkness.
About a year passed since...Westview. The last year was, quite eventful for me to say the least, aside from not being able to find a trace of Tommy anywhere as I lost my connection to him.
Tons of other things happened though, like the visit I received from the sorcerer supreme as it had something to do with some law about me being underage and using magic without supervision so I wasn't allowed to use magic without an experienced adult close to me.
Luckily I had Agatha's ghost to compensate for that and with Wong's approval, I was allowed to be trained by Agatha. Not that I was complaining.
There was so much about magic I didn't know and the fanboy in me just couldn't help but want to learn more. It was also my way of making for what I did.
I didn't want to hurt people anymore and the best way to do that was to learn control.
'William!' I heard my dad knocking on my door. 'Are you done getting ready? I'm going to be late for work.'
'Coming, Dad!' I said and then turned to Agatha. 'You stay put.'
'What?' She scoffed.
'I'm being serious. Senior year has to be perfect and I am not having you looking around me on my first day!' I whispered knowing my dad was probably still at the door.
'Okay, just hurry up!' he said before I sensed him moving away from the door. Since my car was getting an oil change, I couldn't drive it to school so Dad was going to give me a lift.
'Fine!' said Agatha, sounding serious so I was going to take her for her word. 'You can go to school and have a normal day like a normal schoolboy!' she then tossed her hair over her shoulder looking at my room with a slightly disgusted look on her face. 'And I'll be in here...ehg!!!' it was almost as if she was insulting my taste.
'Hey!' I said making it known that I could see that. 'You don't need to stay here. You can go anywhere else but not the school.'
She put a hand over her chest. 'ow what if you get kidnapped?'
'Whatever!' I went to grab my schoolbag before walking to the door only to appear in front of me. 'What! I'm gonna be late and my dad wants to leave!'
'Don't be ridiculous, you can fly there and teleport! I didn't waste a whole year not going to heaven just for you to drive a car to school!'
'Uhg you know why I can't fly or teleport there!'
'Right, because you don't want Mama and Papa to find out. I get it.'
'Can you just say whatever it is, you want to say?' I asked.
Her lips tugged into a warm smile. 'You grew up so fast.'
'Are you crying?' I asked.
'It's time kiddo.'
The moment those words landed, I knew exactly what she meant. But it was too soon. It couldn't be time.
'No,' I shook my head in denial and then cleared my throat when a lump almost formed in my throat. 'You're being silly! Stop playing around!' I laughed and then walked through her. 'I'll meet you at the lair after school.'
'Sure!' she said with her high-pitched voice again.
I then opened the door and closed it before going downstairs.
'Have a nice day at school,' said Dad upon parking at the school to drop me off.
'Yeah, uh, thanks, Dad!' I smiled at him, before opening the door and stepping out. I didn't sense Agatha, so she did stay behind and allowed me to come to school alone.
She didn't have anyone to go to and sometimes it was hard on her, but she had to understand that I had a life and wanted to live it too. Even a life as a normal schoolboy. I owed that to William.
I closed the door and carried my back before waving at Dad and then walking up the steps of Eastview Academy, walking through the main entrance.
The school hall was filled with students excited to share with their friends what they did in the past summer break. Others were holding hands and kissing in the hallways and I just walked past them minding my own business.
Thank god I had control over my telepathy so I didn't have to hear or feel whatever they were thinking in those gross and disgusting moments. Coming from my first breakup sucked and I was still in my bitter phase.
I haven't seen Eddie since we broke up last year and we haven't even talked since. He moved out of Eastview and I heard he had a new girlfriend. He also promised not to tell anyone about my secret, so I still respected him because of that.
I still wished things had ended better between us.
'Excuse me...' I heard a guy's voice next to me and I closed my locker to look at him. My mouth nearly fell open. 'Hi, I'm sort of new around here. I was hoping, you could show me which way is the Chem lab?'
'Chem lab?' I asked and cleared my throat. 'It's right this way...' I pointed in that direction and then remembered I had class there too. 'It's kinda reserved for the 12th Grade AP Physics class, I'm actually on my way there.'
'Awesome! I am going there for that class too!' he said in excitement, while I was practically getting lost in those blue eyes of his.
The boy was tall and muscular built. He was wearing a shirt that looked like it was squeezing the life out of those muscles only for it to look stretched. He had a jacket over his shoulder though which he then wore matching his white shirt and jeans perfectly.
He had messy blonde hair and the most handsome face I have ever seen. I was getting a boner just from looking at those muscles ready to pop his shirt off him.
'Let's go,' I said remembering to breathe.
'My name's Teddy, by the way.'
'Oh, I'm Bi—I mean William! William Kaplan!'
That was close.
'Nice to meet you, William,' he said in a husky voice that made me weak in the knees.
I was totally over Eddie at that moment. I had a new fucking crush!
I made sure my locker was locked and then turned on my heels leading the way.
