Rosette’s Story: Book Two

Since Rose's graduation, she hasn't been able to move on without her friends - but she knew it was for the best.

She stands staring at her books on the floor. Earlier on that day, she had been sorting them out in her library.

Suddenly, her phone rings.

She picks the call.

It's from Precious.

But then the calls drops.

"That's strange, he never hangs up on me." She says.

Then the phone rings again.

Rose picks.

"Hey Rose, I'm so sorry for hanging up on you, it's just that I'm not really in a good mood today." He says.

"Okay, but is everything alright?"

"No." Precious says in a sad tone. "I called to tell you that I lost my mom."

"Oh no, I'm so sorry for your loss." Rose stuttered. "What happened!"

"She died last night." He says. There was tension in his voice.

"I really need to see you one of these days. Oh dear, please take heart." She said smiling.

"Anyways, how's everything with you?" He asked.

"Everything is fine with me." Rose said. "I've been sorting out and arranging the books on my shelf."

"Wow, that's awesome." He smirks. "I'm a huge lover of Sci-fi books."

They both laugh.

"That's cool." She says. "It'll be fine. Please send my regards to your family. I hope you all heal from his challenging season."

"Thanks." He says. "I gotta go now, byeee."

"Bye."

They both end the call.

It's about 4PM in Lagos and the temperature is about 91°F.
