CHARACTER LIST

MAIN CHARACTERS

Sir Morituros – A knight of Laetwonnomy, tasked by the king to banish the Ageing Curse from Everlere.

Celer – Sir Morituros’s noble horse, the only friend he relies on to reach his destination, The Entangled Valley.

Lux, aka Luminous Liberty – The independent hero who hails from the village of Minima.

Inaurata – Lux’s weapons partner and her best friend. She’s a spear with innate magical abilities that no other weapon truly possesses.

Amor – A floating pink mask that is the representation of love.

Figura – A figment of imagination inside of Sir Morituros’s inner brain! He watches everything from behind the scenes and opines his views on them.

SIR MORITUROS’S FAMILY

Pulchra – Sir Morituros’s wife from Laetwonnomy has been married for the past nineteen years.

Filius – Sir Morituros’s son, who idolises his father so much that he is also training to become a knight.

OTHER CHARACTERS IN LAETWONNOMY

King Regales – The current king of Laetwonnomy. He assigned Sir Morituros to undertake the journey of a lifetime, depending on whether he’ll make it back alive.

Queen Matrem – The current queen of Laetwonnomy and King Regales’s wife. She also joined her husband in assigning Sir Morituros to complete the journey to the Entangled Valley.

Prince Lucidus – The son of King Regales and Queen Matrem.

Princess Claritas – The daughter of King Regales and Queen Matrem.

Praeceptor – A former general who led the front lines alongside Sir Morituros to many victories for their homeland. He is now a knight tutor for the newly introduced Junior Knights Corps.

Prudens – One of the king’s scholars who uncovered the map for Sir Morituros to use that’ll set the wheels in motion.

LUX’S FAMILY IN MINIMA

Felix – Lux’s father, a jolly man who’s caring towards his daughter.

Temura – Lux’s mother. Like Felix, she’s also a caring person who kept an eye on Lux when she was a baby.

Munio – Lux’s gran. She passed away when Lux was young, but there’s more to her than meets the eye.

OTHER VILLAGERS IN MINIMA

Porta – A man who despised the other villagers in Minima for the past ten years, with disastrous consequences on the horizon.

Maior – The mayor of Minima.

Equitis – Another villager who lives five miles outside of Minima. His wild Western persona makes him a strange character with hidden intentions.

THE FOREST OF UNITY

Colligo – The guardian of The Forest of Unity.

THE IMPOSSIBLE RIVER

Riparia – The guardian of the Impossible River on the other side of The Forest of Unity. She’s a long-necked, indescribable monster, the first of many obstacles that Sir Morituros must overcome.

VILLAGERS IN FORS

Guard No 1 – A man who escorted Sir Morituros around Fors amid some strange occurrences taking place.

Guard No 2 – Another man who escorted Sir Morituros around Fors amid some strange occurrences taking place.

Paracletus – A peasant who owns a clothing stall and is a key witness.

Perdita – An old woman living in a secluded property in Fors. Her role in the story will shock you to the core.

Divinus – The religious village minister living in Fors.

Salvator – Leader of the group of warriors known only as the Custodes. How the group come into play is something you must find out yourself.

Anticipare – A floating orange mask in the Chamber of Emotions representing anticipation.

Fastidium – An Emotional Watcher in the Chamber of Emotions representing disgust.

Mirum – An Emotional Watcher in the Chamber of Emotions representing surprise.

Iratus – An Emotional Watcher in the Chamber of Emotions representing anger.

Tristis – An Emotional Watcher in the Chamber of Emotions representing sadness.

Gaudium – An Emotional Watcher in the Chamber of Emotions representing joy.

Confido – An Emotional Watcher in the Chamber of Emotions representing trust.

Timor – An Emotional Watcher in the Chamber of Emotions representing fear.

THE DEFENSORES MAGICUM FROM IMMANIS

Fortiter – The leader of the Defensores Magicum hailing from the kingdom of Immanis.

Sciens – The knowledgeable student in the group from Immanis. She knows about any spell thanks to her memory skills.

Bellus – The charming student in the group from Immanis. His attitude can be described as annoying among some members of the group, particularly Fortiter.

Heroico – A student in the group who always poses like a superhero.

Veridicus – A student who always tells the truth in case problems arise.

Rusticus – He ends up doing clumsy things, which is why his friends are always there to reassure him.

Author's Note - If you're reading this now, many thanks for taking the time to dive deep into the world of Unknown Bounds.

Firstly, during the height of the Covid pandemic in 2020, it's taken me four years to write the series so far, and even though I've had a lot of mental and emotional moments in between, it's been an enjoyable experience for me to laugh and cry at so many of the characters and their diverse personalities.

Secondly, I wanted to write this series because I was inspired by the one game I played that it all possible, Dark Souls. I was fascinated by this game so much that after I finished the first game, I then decided to watch the second and third games on YouTube. Think of Unknown Bounds as something I like to call, Reading Souls.

When the remastered version of Demon Souls came out in late 2020, that was when my writing journey had begun.

The names of characters and places in this story are inspired by Latin. I chose this language to create a sense of timelessness and to reflect the rich history of the world within the story. Some names have hidden meanings that connect to the characters or settings—see if you can spot them! But don’t worry if you’re unfamiliar with Latin; the story is written for everyone to enjoy. Feel free to pronounce the names however feels natural to you!
