Ayesha, a renowned tech prodigy and math genius, was used to solving the toughest problems in the world. But on the eve of the biggest competition of her life. the Math Olympiad against an equally brilliant rival, her life took an unexpected turn.
The day had started like any other, with Ayesha diving into her favorite book on advanced AI. It wasn’t just her escape, it was her sanctuary. Her best friend Sanjana, however, had other plans. Bursting into Ayesha's room, Sanjana brought a whirlwind of excitement.
She chatted about the upcoming Olympiad and how Ayesha’s birthday coincided with it. But her joyous energy soon turned mischievous when she snatched Ayesha's beloved book.
"Relax for once, Ayesha! You’ve read this book a dozen times already," Sanjana said, rolling her eyes.
Ayesha protested, clutching the book like a lifeline.
"How am I supposed to relax when this is the only thing keeping me sane?"
Sanjana sighed dramatically before shoving her phone into Ayesha’s hand.
"Fine! If you want to read, read this. It’s from Wattpad, and I promise you’ll love it."
Ayesha frowned, unimpressed.
"Sanjana, Wattpad? Really? It’s full of random stories anyone can write."
"Random? Excuse me!" Sanjana retorted, visibly offended.
"This story is different. It’s about a villain who feels like a hero but stays a villain... or maybe a hero? Ugh, just read it, okay? You’re going to thank me later."
Reluctantly, and only to avoid further drama, Ayesha promised to check it out later that night.
The Turning Point
As the night deepened, curiosity got the better of her. She opened the story on her phone, half-expecting to roll her eyes and give up. But the more she read, the more intrigued she became.
It was dark, mysterious, and unsettlingly gripping. Exhaustion eventually caught up with her, and she drifted to sleep, still clutching the phone.
When Ayesha woke up, she knew something was wrong. The soft glow of her desk lamp and the familiar clutter of her room were gone. In their place was a completely alien world.
The people, the buildings even her bodyfell off. She looked into a mirror, and though the face staring back was hers, it wasn’t hers at the same time.
“What in the world happened to me?” she whispered, her voice trembling.
A knock at the door interrupted her panic. A group of strangers greeted her warmly, calling her by her name, but their words hinted at a life she didn’t recognize. Even more unsettling was the setting: she was somehow back in university, a place she hadn’t stepped foot in for years.
Panic clawed at her chest. How was this possible? Was it a dream? A cruel joke? Or something worse?
A World of Secrets
Unbeknownst to Ayesha, she had been pulled into the world of the very story she’d read. The world was twisted, filled with shadowy figures and morally ambiguous characters.

they felt real. There was the charming yet enigmatic professor who seemed to know more than he let on, the rival student who exuded hostility but harbored a tragic past, and a mysterious figure who seemed to be watching her every move.
As days turned into weeks, Ayesha found herself torn. Part of her wanted to escape and return to her life as a tech genius, while another part of her was drawn to this world’s complex characters and the unexpected bonds she was forming.
Amid the suspense, there were moments of humor, like when she accidentally hacked into the university’s archaic system to win an argument or the awkward encounters with her supposed "friends," who couldn’t understand her bizarre behavior. And then there were the tender moments, quiet conversations under the stars, unspoken emotions, and the growing realization that she might be falling for someone in this fictional world.
The Final Question
But as Ayesha delved deeper, the stakes grew higher. The story’s villain, a figure cloaked in shadows, seemed to be targeting her specifically. And the more she unraveled the truth, the more she began to question: Was this really a fictional world? Or had she stumbled upon something far greater and far more dangerous than a mere story?
Now, Ayesha must race against time to uncover the truth. Can she outsmart the forces trapping her in this world? Or will she be forever lost between the pages of a book she never wanted to read in the first place?
