It was a slow build
"I have to admit, this story didn't catch me at first, but because I love her writing I kept on reading. And maybe part of it was that the actions and thoughts of Emily laid bare some of my grief from a late love, and maybe reading helped me as I worked through things about his loss I hadn't realized I needed to. However, I love these two together now and I plan to keep reading. Such a treat. Thank you for writing this."
