PAINFUL SECRETS
“It’s a good thing that Arthur hasn’t been able to come home for the past three nights. I guess that business emergency that he called me about is one heck of a problem to solve.”
Diana was thankful that she was still able to have brunch despite a very awful morning. The dutiful blond housewife woke up with a splitting headache and was soon throwing up in the loo. That was the second time for her to experience morning sickness, and since she was a former head nurse before she got married, the blue-eyed lady was now very sure of the reason for her continuous nausea along with constant body aches and pain.
“This is another reason why I’m glad that Art has yet to return,” the curvaceous wife whispered to herself as she sipped a glass of warm milk. “He would certainly worry about me even if these are just signs of pregnancy.”
Yes, the youngest daughter of a family of doctors and nurses was with child! Of course, like any excited future mother, she planned to surprise her husband once they meet. It seems destiny was in her favor since her handsome, muscular and bearded spouse is still busy fixing an urgent matter within his multi-billion international company.
“That’s his car!” Diana cried out excitedly as she heard the familiar sound of the horn of Arthur’s latest model Bugatti La Voiture Noire in black. “I hope he’s not too tired to hear about my surprise.”
The ivory-skinned female swiftly rushed down their elegant mahogany curved and carpeted stairs in the hopes of meeting her husband at the front door’s threshold. Arthur was indeed already there, but to her surprise, he was accompanied by a slender, long-haired redhead with a three-year-old boy.
Diana hesitated as she stepped on their mansion’s ground level’s grey-streaked marble floor. She didn’t like how the seductively-dressed female was looking at her. It’s as if the saying “if looks can kill” would definitely fit this unknown antagonistic girl.
“Hello Diana, you’ve come just in time,” greeted the man with the wavy reddish auburn hair to his puzzled wife, while holding the nameless woman’s hand. “I need to tell you something very important.”
By that time, the 5’7 blond was already right in front of her spouse and the supercilious-looking redhead, “Well, I have something important to tell you too, but I prefer to say it in private.”
“If that’s the case, then I will go first,” retorted Arthur as his hazel eyes bore into Diana’s light blue ones, “I want a divorce, Di.”
Diana felt as if the floor had suddenly opened up and swallowed her whole!
“What the… Please tell me your joking…”
“Believe me, I’m not…”
The typically serene housewife was fast loosing her calm and cool demeanour. She then immediately verbally attacked her “rival” who was already assaulting the young Caruso spouse with her slitted stare from the moment Di saw her.
“Are you leaving me because of this… wicked woman?” Diana asked with a steely tone as she pointed to the curvy female who was still clinging to Art’s arm as if she owned it.
“Excuse me, but for your information, Arthur has already been my lover even before he married you,” the hostile female hissed, as she tightened her hold on her faithless companion’s massive right bicep. “And he was still bedding me even after your wedding!”
Diana’s bitter speech died in her throat. A part of her truly wanted to attack and hurt this shameless homewrecker but she was sure that this slut would just use it against her. This arrogant cunt would play the victim and Arthur will take the bitch’s side.
And she was definitely not going to give either of these backstabbers the satisfaction of seeing her cry, much less beg! Oh, hell no! The raging fury inside of her was effectively countering the extreme grief that was tearing her heart apart.
The feisty female might not be too proud to plead, yetDiana was definitely not going to be trodden over. This was despite her still being very much in love with her philandering husband…
Just then, there was a knock on the large, elegantly-carved front double doors. Art immediately stepped back and reached for the brass-covered antique handles with both hands, pulling them to throw the wooden entryways wide open.
“Ysrael, I’m glad you’ve finally arrived. Attorney Riegel, thank you for preparing the papers at such short notice.”
Diana’s light blue orbs grew bigger, “Papers?”
Arthur Caruso nodded, “It’s the divorce papers, what else?”
Even as the broad-shouldered suited male took the sheaf of papers to the nearest decorative table near him so he could study and sign them, Diana began to go back in her memory to the time when her husband began courting her. Based on the boy’s age, which her experienced nurse’s knowledge could easily see that he was almost four. She remembers Arthur asking her to marry him around the time his mother was running for congress and judging by his bastard son’s age, he had probably gotten this brazen bitch pregnant then. Di realized, to her chagrin, that Arthur needed a wife whom he can be proud of and show around without hurting his mother’s reputation at that time. And she happened to be there and available at that time!
Which means, whoever this whore is, she definitely is not decent, trustworthy or reliable or Art would have chosen to marry this stranger instead…
But I’m not going to tell you of my analysis, even if it’s seldom that I’m wrong, Mister Raoul Antonio Caruso! You chose to do this and if you suffer painful consequences because of your decision, you MUST learn your lesson in the end. Whatever kind of agony I might have to endure for you to realize this, I will willingly go through it. After all, I still love you even if you are leaving me!
In less than an hour, Di and Arthur have both signed the divorce papers…
“You don’t need to get your things together, Diana. My Security Director Yzzy will be the one to oversee the packing of your stuff,” Art reminds his now ex-wife as he slides his gold-plated Forbidden City HRH Limited Edition Visconti fountain pen into his black Italian-made suit’s breast pocket. “Just let us know your future address, please.”
Diana was quick to respond since she had already decided where to go while waiting for their lawyer to finish looking through their signed documents, “Send them all to my family’s hospital, Arthur. You have the address, yes?”
“I do… but before you leave, what was that important thing you wanted to let me know about earlier?”
Again, the former nurse answer did not miss a beat, “Oh, that? It was nothing really. So yeah, bye Arthur and good luck…”
No way, am I telling you that I’m pregnant with your baby, Art. Not after what you did to me!
