To eradicate any confusion as to who this “Roni” person is and why I wrote their fictional love story, let me tell you the tale of how this little short story romance came to be, written for my dearest friend Roni Ulibarri.
We were up late, sitting on my sisters sofa, giggling about all sorts of nonsense and speaking in our terrible British accents as if we were in a Jane Austen movie. My sister brought up the time that her and Roni had goofily conjured up a story of how Roni should meet her future husband. After a few moments of thinking over the best idea known to
man (just saying), I presented my thoughts to Roni.“What if all of your literary friends wrote you a story about how they think you’d meet your future husband?”I said. She loved the idea, so she texted all of her literary friends in excitement, and then waited.
I loved writing this for Roni. It was so fun, so enlightening on just how much I love her and SO ROMANTIC! I squealed so many times!
