Chapter 1: Awakening of the Modern Sage 

Setting:

The story begins in a dimly lit cavern deep beneath the Azure Sky Sect. Zhao Tian, the main character, awakens in a battered body, covered in blood, with no memory of how he arrived in this strange world.

Scene 1:Awakening in a New World

Zhao Tian opened his eyes, groaning as pain lanced through his body.

“Where… am I?” His voice echoed faintly in the cavern, carrying an unfamiliar depth. He blinked rapidly, trying to make sense of his surroundings.

The air was heavy, dense with an odd energy that seemed to press against his chest. He looked down at his hands—thin, pale, and calloused. These weren’t his hands.

[System Notification] Binding complete. Welcome to the Qiyuan World, Host.

“What the—” Zhao Tian shot upright, only to groan as his chest flared with pain. His mind raced. Binding? Qiyuan World?

Fragments of memory flooded in. A truck, a bright light… and then nothing. Now he was here, in a body that wasn’t his.

“Who are you? What’s going on?” Zhao Tian demanded.

A calm, emotionless voice echoed in his mind:

I am the Inventor’s Spirit System, assigned to assist you in revolutionizing this world through Earth technology. Your previous body is gone. You now inhabit Zhao Tian, a disciple of the Azure Sky Sect. Unfortunately, this body is… severely damaged.

Zhao Tian glanced down at his bloodied robes, riddled with slashes. “No kidding.”

The system continued:

Your survival is improbable without immediate action. Host must innovate quickly or perish.

Scene 2:First Fight

Before Zhao Tian could process the information, the sound of footsteps echoed through the cavern. A group of men in black robes stepped into view, their faces obscured by masks.

“He’s still alive,” one of them sneered. “The Azure Sky Sect’s trash disciple refuses to die.”

Zhao Tian’s head throbbed. Great. Not only am I in a different world, but I’m apparently the local punching bag.

The leader of the group drew a blade glowing with faint spiritual energy. “Finish him off. The sect won’t miss someone like him.”

The system’s voice returned:

Host, immediate threat detected. Activating emergency protocols.

“Emergency protocols? What protocols?!” Zhao Tian shouted.

Suddenly, a blueprint appeared in his mind—a diagram of a crude crossbow made from wood and simple mechanisms.

Materials detected nearby. Construct immediately.

Zhao Tian scrambled, his hands moving instinctively as if guided by an unseen force. Broken wooden planks, vines, and shards of rock scattered around the cavern came together in his hands.

“Are you building something?” one of the assassins asked, amused. “How pathetic.”

“Give me thirty seconds,” Zhao Tian muttered, tightening the final vine.

The assassins charged.

Zhao Tian raised the makeshift crossbow and fired. A bolt of condensed spiritual energy shot out, striking one of the attackers in the chest. The man collapsed, clutching at the smoking hole in his armor.

“What is that weapon?!” another shouted.

“No time to explain,” Zhao Tian said, firing again. The second bolt pierced another enemy’s shoulder, forcing the group to retreat

Scene 3:Aftermath and Resolve

As the last of the assassins fled, Zhao Tian collapsed to the ground, the crossbow disintegrating in his hands. His breath came in ragged gasps.

Host has successfully repelled the immediate threat. Congratulations.

Zhao Tian laughed bitterly. “Yeah, congratulations to me. I’ve gone from being an engineer to fighting for my life with a stick and some vines.”

But even as he spoke, a spark of determination lit in his eyes. He’d been given a second chance—a chance to live, to fight, and to create.

“Alright, system,” Zhao Tian said, sitting up. “If I’m stuck in this world, I’m going to change it. Show me what I can build next.”
