CHAPTER 1

My name is Reina Meadows im a middle class mage, I just turned eighteen and in five days ill be going off to one of the best academies in Lori-a! Well if I dont miss the trian there of course.

“Reina? its five o’clock if you want to be back before dark you need to leave now”.

Ok mom im almost finished packing.That lovely voice you just heard was my mom Abby Meadows one of the best mages in the city well at least she used to be, you know before she had me and my younger brother Maxwell.

She retired and settled down with my dad Hamish now she just cooks, cleans, Oh and yells at her older daughter for being late every now and agian.

I looked through my bag to make sure I had everything I need before heading out.Alright i’ve got everything oh wait I forgot my notebook. Ok mom im leaving now i’ll see you later,

It’s starting to get a little bit colder out here. It’s almost winter so I should get use to it. Now witch way did Avery say he saw that baby slothwisk?

If your wondering what a slothwisk is its a type of mutated species it appeared around six months ago on the outskirts of Lori-a. its said to look kinda like a gaint worm and it also shoots out blue acid when scared.

It came to my attention that I’ve been going in circles for the past hour. I think it’s safe to say im lost dammit!! Alright this stupid map is not helping…Well I dont see any one around so it should be safe to use my powers.

Although my mom strictly forbid me and my brother from using any of our abilities outside of the village due to the whole people not liking mages thing.I decided to just try it.Oh well what could go wrong?ok here goes nothing…[chanting a spell the wrong way].

Ahhh.. my body hit the ground pretty hard.That hurt I guess I said the spell wrong.As i get up from the ground I here men in the distance and they don’t sound to friendly I better get going.

I hear one of them say hey look over there it’s a girl let’s get her.

Uh-oh ok time to run where in the hell did I fall. As I run with all my might I can here them chasing me but all of a sudden I here those same men screaming!!

I look back to see what was going and to my surprise there was no one there but I could of sworn I was still be followed and just as I was about to let my guard down a strange shadow appeared behind this shadow hoverd over my own.

I knew who ever was behind was not some small and easy person to beat with my own two hands so if I was going to get out of this alive I would have to use every bit of power I had.

I slowly turned around trying to prepare my self for whoever I was about fight.Just then as I looked up I saw this tall guy looking down on me. His crimson red eyes, strong jawline,and beautiful cheeks bones stunned me.

He was so beautiful and terrifying at the same time.I couldn’t even look away let alone fight him.We stared at each for what felt like hours but it was only around a minute or so. Then he asked me with a strong but gentle voice “what is a young mage doing in Viridian?”.

I tried to sound just as strong but that ultimately failed with a trembling voice I replied with ohI kinda got here by accident . He took a step back with a confused face, I explained that I had accidentally said a spell wrong and was brought here as a result.

At frist he didn’t look so convinced, but then his look softened,as he was about to leave. I let my words slip thinking he wouldn’t here. I thought vampires where supposed to be these hideous blood sucking creatures.

He turned around and said and I thought mages where supposed to be good at magic. It would seem we both were wrong he said with a chuckle.

As he chuckled my heart skipped a beat his laughter sounded so beautiful and calming.

He asked me my name I replied Renia… Renia Meadow’s.What’s yours I asked? he said with a grin on his face Aaron… Aaron Estrada.In my head I believe he was mocking me.

His grin faded and he took a step back in my direction. Ms. Renia I believe it would be best if you headed home,there are more than just those three men who wish to harm you in these lands.I replied and told him I was lost and didn’t know how I got here let alone know how to get home.

He replied and said well I guess I must help you out then. He lead me back to wear Lori-a and Veridian connected. I was about to turn and thank him but when I looked back he was gone. Ironically enough I got back home in one peace I had arrived at little bit later then usual so my mom was standing in the drive way when I got home.

I didn’t tell what had happened,to be honest I didn’t really know what happened myself but one thing I did know was that wasnt the last time I would see the mysterious vampire Aaron I just had a feeling I would see him agian.
