New Beginnings

Addison

It had hit him hard when she’d miscarried their second child and it had all gone down from there he’d pushed her away he’d pushed his son away because he was an asshole and they’d picked up on it. Mel had picked up on everything that was happening under her nose but had turned a blind eye until now. Maybe she’d finally hit rock bottom like he had when everything had gotten too much for him. He’d blamed Mel for losing their child though it was just one of those things that are natural but he’d said some damn nasty things to her and she’d stuck by him after he’d fucked a girl form college that night and she was in hospital unsure of how many more girls he was fucking around with behind her back.

No amount of sorries could prepare them for the distance they’d put between each other. Once he’d got the position of the CEO of the company he’d been working so damn hard for everything came crashing down again and he’d found it hard to keep up the demand of the workload and found solace in the secretary or his PA none of it mattered Mel was at home with Kyrie and that’s where his heart was or it should’ve been.

After her miscarriage and his infidelity she barely slept in the same room as he did and when she did she stayed as far away from him as she possibly could. She’d tried so hard to get them on rational ground for Kyrie’s sake but he’d ignored her pleas and he’d gone out drinking several times with the guys from work and even his friends for school and college to drown his sorrows occasionally if he was wrecked and horny he’d fuck her but otherwise there was nothing there maybe he’d made the mistake of trying to hard to form a relationship with her because she was having her child and that’s all it was until he’d fallen in love with her and even then he’d managed to screw it the fuck up.

She’d thrown the ring back at him and who the fuck could blame her he’d accused her of killing their unborn child. He’d drunk his loss away fucking any pissy that shown interest while she went into deep depression and ended up in hospital for the hurtful shit he’d said.

Maybe she was better off without him, but he’d give it one more go to show her that he wanted her and Kyrie. He’d made such a balls up of everything now she was gone, they were gone, his girl and his son and he knew if he didn’t do anything they’d be out of his life forever, gone for good.

Why did he have to get drunk again? Cause he’s a failure and likes to hide his emotions and failures that’s fucking why he was weak sad and pathetic no wonder Mel had left him and taken their son with her. He needed to get his shit together and make Mel see he’d changed Andy this time for good and ask her and Kyrie to come back home where they belonged.

He closed the door behind him locking it, sighing he’d never once thought she’d leave him after all she made him a promise to never leave him no matter how much he fucked up cause he knew he would one way or another. He just hoped Kyrie would grow up and not make the same mistakes as he had.

Rhys pulled the car up outside the town house which he had purchased three years ago when he had brought out Brandon’s place of work; since then it had grown and branched out. He was seriously thinking about sending Brandon to one of the new offices far away from Mel and Kyrie he’d always knew Addison was no good for them and he was a peice of shit that only cared about his own well-being and fuck everyone else around him that cared.

It had proved him right for the second time he’d obviously drank his weight yet again and hooked up with a hooker instead of being at home with his girl one son but that was Addison all over a worthless piece of shit that only had time for his friends and no one else he was a self-absorbed prick and he’d only got worse once he’d been given his new position in the company he’d bet anything that he’d blame the long hours and dedication to his new position on the reason why Mel had called at almost five in the morning he’d more likely blame her and Kyrie for just being them and too much hard work to be dealing with and he’d have to let of steam.

Which his terms meant hooking up with a prostitute. Had he learnt not Nagh from three years ago? When he’d almost lost both Mel and Kyrie to the exact same bull shite? Obviously not because he’d done it again no doubt.

The car doors unlocked and they all got out Mel unlatched the child seat belt and pulled a sleeping Kyrie into her arms. Closing the door.

Lilly slid out her bump growing faster by the day, now almost seven months gone and pissed off with not being able to sleep because the little shit wouldn’t stop kicking her every chance it had got. He smiled at his fiancée who had agreed to marry him once the little tike had finally come into this world he would’ve preferred before she had told him she was carrying his child, but time could not be turned back now. He was like a Cheshire cat when she had announced she was carrying his heir. He couldn’t wait for the bundle of joy to pop out.

“I’m sorry for this Lilly. I know you haven’t had much sleep.”

She waved her off.

“Why don’t you two go in Lilly will show you the guest room and I’ll bring your stuff in.”

“Are you sure?”

“It’s no trouble at all Mel, you go and sort Kyrie out and chat with Lilly while I sort this.”

“Thanks for this, for everything.”

“It’s our pleasure, now get the little tike settled.”

She smiled and headed in with Lilly whilst Rhys grabbed their bags heading in. He knew for one thing for sure that she’d never have him back after this. And he for one wouldn’t be the only one to beat the shite out of him for treating Mel like shite on his shoe, thinking he could get away with living the high life the life he used to have before Kyrie. He’s got no clue what it means to be a father and raise a family. Let’s hope losing them both he realises that he’s lost, the best thing that’s ever happened to him.

I close the boot and press the button. The lights flash twice telling him that the car alarm was set so he headed inside.

“What happened between you and my brother? If you don’t want to talk about it it’s fine.”

“He started to drink again. He’s been going out with his friends an awful lot and coming back smelling of booze and perfume when I tried to ask him about it he said I was being delusional. He practically has nothing to do with Kyrie; he’s at work more than at home. We’ve argued a lot since he got promoted. He reckons I should be grateful that I’m bringing in enough money to take care of us, not complaining that I don’t see him.

He went out with his friends tonight and we argued again. His constant nights out with his friends and getting back at the crack is becoming a regular occurrence. It’s bringing us to breaking point Kyrie is always asking sbo his father and I just don’t know what to tell him any more, Lil.

I had hoped after everything and the miscarriage things would change between us and we would become stronger, but it’s the exact opposite he blamed me for it but he doesn’t get shot like that happens then he gets angrier and tells me he was glad I had a miscarriage because he didn’t want another kid.”

“Fucking asshole.”

Mel nods in agreement. “Tonight was just the fucking topping on the cake. He walked in not long before I called ratassed off his head with alcohol and whatever they had been smoking then I saw it the lipstick on his collar the lipstick he tried to play off with his bullshit lies. I had enough and told him we were done.”

“I’m sorry Mel. I know he’s my brother, but he’s a fuck up and a waste of space he’s lost something good cause all he cares about is himself and a lifestyle he can no longer have.”

“Well he’s welcome to that lifestyle. I’m not interested in having him around, a father that couldn’t give two shits about his own son and the family we had. I’m sorry Lil. I was stupid to ever think he could ever change. I gave him too many chances to change and every time he proved me wrong.”

“We all face him that chance Mel, maybe you more than us cause you wanted to prove to your parents he was going to stand by you and be a good father to Kyrie. Fatherhood is a full-time job not when he feels like it.”
