The Land Where Did Not Finish Creation
Mary and Joseph sailed across the choppy waters, desperately fleeing from Herod’s wrath. The infant Messiah, Jesus, lay cradled in Mary’s arms, safe for now.
“We must keep going, Joseph. The Lord will protect us,” Mary said, her voice trembling with fear and resolve.
“I know, my love. I can see land ahead. Perhaps we can find refuge there.” Joseph gripped the oars, his muscles straining with each pull.
As they approached the shoreline, they were awestruck by the towering cliffs and jagged rock formations that seemed to pierce the sky.
“What is this place?” Mary whispered, her eyes wide with wonder and trepidation.
“I do not know, but we have no choice but to seek shelter here.” Joseph guided the boat toward a narrow inlet, his heart pounding with each passing moment.
They stepped onto the rocky shore, their feet sinking into the soft sand. Suddenly, a strange creature emerged from the nearby swamp, its massive size and peculiar appearance startling them.
“Joseph, what is that?” Mary asked, holding the baby close to her chest.
“I know not, but we must be cautious. This place is unlike any I have seen.” Joseph positioned himself in front of Mary, ready to defend his family.
The creature, an Aciedactylus, slowly approached. Its broad, splay-toed feet, kept it from sinking into the mud. It eyed the newcomers curiously, its long, bladelike claws flexing.
“Stay back, creature!” Joseph shouted, his voice echoing across the water. The Aciedactylus paused, its secondary nostrils trumpeting a low, rumbling call. It seemed to sense the fear radiating from the strangers and slowly retreated back into the swampy depths.
“We must find a safer place to rest,” Joseph said, his brow furrowed with concern.
“Yes, let us move on. The Lord will guide us.” Mary followed Joseph as they ventured deeper into the strange, unfamiliar land.
Chapter 2: Wonders and Dangers of the Lowlands
As Mary and Joseph made their way through the dense foliage, they were struck by the sheer size and diversity of the creatures that inhabited this island.
“Look, Joseph! Those enormous creatures, they must be the size of houses!” Mary exclaimed, her eyes wide with amazement.
“Indeed, my love. They are unlike anything I have ever seen.” Joseph marveled at the towering Brontosaurus, their long necks reaching high into the canopy.
“How can such massive beasts exist?” Mary asked, her voice tinged with wonder.
“I do not know, but we must tread carefully. These creatures could easily crush us underfoot.” Joseph guided Mary around a large, muddy patch, his eyes scanning the area for any potential threats.
Suddenly, a thunderous roar echoed through the lowlands, causing the ground to tremble beneath their feet.
“What was that?” Mary cried, clutching the baby close to her.
“Stay close to me, my dear. I will protect you.” Joseph drew his sword, his muscles tensing as he prepared to defend his family. A massive, bipedal creature emerged from the thick foliage, its enormous jaws gaping wide. The Vastatosaurus Rex, the apex predator of Skull Island, had caught their scent. The V Rex let out a deafening roar, its massive body surging forward.
“Joseph, run!” Mary shouted, her heart pounding in her chest.
The couple fled, their footsteps pounding against the soft earth as the V Rex gave chase, its powerful strides closing the distance between them.
“Keep going, Mary! Don’t look back!” Joseph yelled, his lungs burning with exertion.
Mary and Joseph turned and fled, the thunderous footsteps of the V. Rex echoing behind them. They stumbled through the jungle, their lungs burning, until finally they spotted a narrow crevice in the rock face, just large enough for them to squeeze through.
They dove into the crevice, huddling together as the V Rex’s massive head appeared at the entrance, its hot breath washing over them. Mary clutched Jesus tightly, her heart pounding in her ears.
The creature let out a frustrated roar, its jaws snapping at the air, but it was unable to reach them. Slowly, it withdrew, its massive form disappearing back into the jungle.
“What was that?” Mary cried, clutching the baby close to her.
“Stay close to me, my dear. I will protect you.” Joseph drew his sword, his muscles tensing as he prepared to defend his family. As they exited, V Rex turned back and gave chase again. Mary & Joseph then spot a herd of massive, horned ceratopsians up ahead.
Ferrucutus.
Joseph steered his family towards the herd, hoping the imposing herbivores would deter the predator. As they drew closer, the Ferrucutus turned to face the threat, their horns lowered in a defensive posture. Joseph pulled Mary behind their armored flank, sheltering in their wake. With a thunderous, tooth-filled roar, the V Rex charged straight towards the herd, only to pull up short as the largest male - a veritable mountain of muscle, horn and bone - whirled to face it. Lowering its massive frilled head, it issued a deafening bellow of challenge, pawing the ground as if to gore the insolent carnivore where it stood.
The V Rex slowed its pursuit, its yellow eyes narrowing as it assessed the new challenge. For a moment, carnivore and herbivore stared each other down, the tension unbearable. Then, grudgingly, the V Rex backed away, still rumbling menacing growls deep in its throat, not wanting to risk tangling with such formidable defiance today. With a final, rumbling growl, the massive carnivore turned and retreated back into the dense foliage, disappearing from sight. Watching it skulk back into the forest, Joseph clutched Mary and the infant protectively.
Mary and Joseph collapsed to the ground, their bodies trembling with relief and exhaustion.
“Thank the Lord we are safe,” Mary whispered, cradling the baby close.
Joseph nodded, his gaze fixed on the Ferrucutus herd, their massive forms a testament to the wonders and dangers of this strange, forgotten land.
“We must find a more secure refuge, my love. This place is unlike any other, and we must be vigilant.” Joseph helped Mary to her feet, his resolve steeled by the trials they had faced. Though they had escaped its jaws this time, the encounter made one thing clear.
This was no Eden - but a primordial domain where leviathans still reigned, and the fear of being ripped and devoured was an ever-present reality. The island’s name seemed apt indeed: Skull Island, a place where God’s creative hand had yet to lose its grasp on the primal forces that shaped His eldest designs. Holding the Christ child close, Mary and Joseph exchanged a sobering glance, coming to the same realization. If they were to survive in this untamed purgatory, they would need to tread carefully. For in this lost world, the supreme predator had yet to arise.
A/N: Honestly, Peter Jackson’s iteration of Skull Island is my favorite. What made me love it more is “The World Of Kong: A Natural History Of Skull Island”, which gives it more lore, and I have a copy of it.
A/N: Though there are Bible crossovers, I didn’t see any Bible/King Kong crossovers, so I thought I should do my own interpretation. For anyone who’s raised in a religious environment, I do apologize if you’re offended.
