"This was a fantastic book that had me pulled in from the first chapter. The plot starts immediately, and we mainly follow Rose as she is forced into a marriage that is supposedly meant to end a seven-year-long war. At times, she can seem rather bratty or immature (But I mean, come on, who wouldn't be in an arranged marriage with the enemy) The enemies-to-lovers / slow-burn romance is done extremely well. Prince Alric is cold toward Rose, sometimes even indifferent. However, as we learn more about him and his family dynamic over time, you can't help but feel for him. Even Rose can't stop herself from wanting to help him. This is when we start to see the most character growth from her. And it was more than just her jumping into bed with Alric (like you might see with this type of trope), we get to watch her grow stronger, learn to trust, and accept the fact that there was more to the world than just her home. This whole story was beautifully done, and I cannot wait for the second book! "

"I definitely recommend picking up this story. The characters are dynamic and the plot pulled me along right to the end. And don't be like me, panicking about how everything is going to wrap up in only the last few chapters! I liked how the relationship progressed and how Rose figured out how not to be a spoiled brat (iykyk!) I'm looking forward to the sequel."
