Prologue: The Storm
The sea is cruel, dark, and unpredictable.
It was just supposed to be a three-day cruise. This wasn’t supposed to happen. There wasn’t supposed to be a storm tonight. As the waves crashed around Aster as she struggled to cling to the debris floating around her. The ship had sunk by now, but the debris still floated, crashing in the wind and rain. Her eyes searched franticly for others amidst the waves, but she was alone. Aster looked to the storm above and prayed for help. Unbeknownst to her, the gods would answer.
