The Nine Finger Piano Player
"I have read a number of Tom Larsen's books and enjoyed them all, but I think this is his best work yet! I love the characters, their depths and simplicity (as flawed human souls). Having worked in the prison system, the accuracy is definitely there in Andy's history. I couldn't put the novel down, literally switching from one device to another to not miss a single word while changing rooms. He is an master at showing the reader his characters. I want a sequel to this novel!"

The Nine-Finger Piano Player
"This is a well-constructed, well-written story of a young man in pursuit of his dream. Set in early-1950's America, it follows Andy from the streets of New Jersey to the so-called Promised Land—California. Andy finds that it is not so easy to leave his past behind, and becomes embroiled in a plan to steal $75,000 from a wealthy recluse. In the end, he finds a different dream than the one he set out to find."
