I'm hooked
"This book so far has been intriguing, intense and cinematic in tone. The action is displayed so viscerally and artistically. Hadley is such a great FMC. She is sarcastic, witty, snarky, kind and brave. There are so many complex emotions that the author takes you though and I love the directions you find yourself pulled in. frustration, excitement, sadness...care. The author does an amazing job job at fleshing out the characters, making their issues real and feel identifiable. I'm glad I agreed to start this story! I would recommend people get involved because I can't wait to see where this story goes. Melyssa 😘 "
A wonderful read
"I love books that make me get lost in the fictional world, and that's exactly what your book did. I really like Hadley, how funny she is and how relatable and unique she is as well. Your writing style creates a lot of intrigue and you're good with wordplay. you're an amazing writer, I'll definitely be on this book till it finishes."
The best narrative style. Ever!
"First, a confession. I was invited to review this novel. And I embarked on this mission purely out of a sense of duty and obligation. But what I ended up discovering will stay with me for a long, long time. • The First Chapter got me hooked. Written in long paragraphs, highly descriptive prose, and intricate details of thoughts and emotions, it is an example of narrative storytelling at its best. I could literally smell danger and doom in every sentence and paragraph. The tone is so overwhelmingly ominous. • The Second Chapter impressed me the most. Written in a sarcastic manner, it is a complete deviation from the First in tone and atmosphere. • The Third, Fourth, and Fifth Chapters have a different narration style from the First and Second. They have shorter paragraphs, sharper dialogs, crisp sentences. It is absolutely unique to experience such a wide variety of writing styles from one chapter to the next. • This displays the author's command over the language and mastery over the art and craft of storytelling. Do not be fooled, this author is no amateur, but a versatile and seasoned pro. • Lastly, this story is not plot-driven, but narration-driven. The plot unfolds slowly and gradually, but what enthralls and captivates you is the rich descriptive prose. This novel is a triumph of storytelling over story. WHAT is written is important, but HOW it is written is even more so. I now wait for the next chapters with bated breath."
Captivating
"I have no words to describe how much I've enjoyed this story so far; it has kidnapped my attention from the very first chapter. I truly cannot wait to read more and am more than happy to become a captive to the world you have put into words. Nicely done, author! 💚"
Review
"You have done an amazing job. I love your work. I love the character development. Keep up the great work. Your work has loads of potential. "
Classic Dungeon Adventure
"Hadley escapes trouble time and again just to find herself in even more of it. Seems like this cat girl just can't catch a break. If you love dungeon-crawl stories, a strong inner-voice, and awesome storytelling, Hadley's Tale is just the thing for you! Edit: There are 10 chapters out now and I am still loving every moment of it. Hadley is learning to trust and be vulnerable with her new friend, and is now traversing the world! We get to see so much of the new places that she finds herself in and Shiori's writing style makes it feel like you're walking alongside them as they travel. Can't wait for the next 10."
My Review
"I’ve really enjoyed the storyline of Shattered Eternity: Hadley’s Tale so far. Hadley’s escape from slavery, her fight for survival, her loneliness, and the introduction of Cyra are all incredibly strong and full of potential. The world you’ve built feels dangerous and mysterious, and I love that. However, after reading 10 chapters, I find myself struggling to continue. The main reason is that I’m not feeling a deep emotional connection to the characters or their experiences. The writing is very polished and descriptive, but sometimes the focus on perfect grammar and structure makes it harder to feel Hadley’s fear, exhaustion, hope, or loneliness. I would love to see the emotions come through more raw and vividly — even if that means letting the writing get a little messy or chaotic in intense scenes. It would make the characters feel even more real and relatable. For example, in the description of Malavar village (Chapter 7), while the scene was painted vividly and beautifully, it leaned heavily into description. The imagery was strong, but it slowed the story’s pacing and made it harder to stay emotionally connected to Hadley's journey. Sometimes less is more when it comes to setting — giving enough to anchor the reader without overwhelming the forward movement of the plot. Another thing I noticed is that the transitions between scenes sometimes feel jarring. The use of Inkitt’s automatic scene breakers disrupts the flow of the story. I would suggest using a simpler method like three dots (…) instead, as it feels much more natural and keeps the reader immersed without pulling them out of the experience. You have such a great foundation with your plot, world, and characters — with a bit more emotional depth, slightly tighter descriptions, and smoother transitions, I truly believe this story could become something unforgettable. I’m wishing you all the best as you continue writing it!"
