Chapter 1
After the government creates humans with superpowers, on accident they try to cover it up by hunting down these "Fallen humans" along with creating a whole new breed , to say the "fallen humans. " evolved from them. Ren Tanaka is one of these Fallen Humans and after using his powers in public he is taken away from his family and locked up by the government.
The public Is not aware that the blood that they show is drawn from the rebellions knife.
The rebellion is the organisation behind these created monsters and the main opponent of the fallen liberators.
"Ren Tanaka." The commander spoke out waiting for my reply. "Yes sir?" I spoke back afraid of what I would be assigned to next.
"There is a man who we think is connected to the rebellion perhaps, an undergoing alliance between the two parties. It's said that Kenzo is known for his ruthless behaviour on the streets and his goal to ruin our image. It shall be your job to clear this matter." My uncle Van spoke out with firm words not a single ounce of a joke in his tone. Despite the man taking me in when I was just seven years old he never held back on discipline.
After accepting this mission I walked through the warned down streets disguised every inch of my skin considering the fallen city was a place with a dangerous city, you could never know who was watching and who to trust. It's rather difficult to clear our reputation, by the scums who ruin it, and also stay hidden within the shadows, as an instinct of survival.
My eyes immediately darted towards the smoke, a fiery blaze even I could feel, a few blocks down the road from where the conflict was taking place. I braced myself for what was to become, as my body moved on its own, the adrenaline now in charge of my being. My eyes landed on the Target and there stood Kenzo.
He was the Human embodiment of the definition of Evil itself. "so you're the one the liberators sent.. let's see if the newbie lives up to their name." Kenzo spoke with a challenging tone, his hand in his charcoal hair slicking it back, piercing orange eyes which stared into my soul. "Shut up. How do you know about me?" I questioned him steadying myself for a possible fight. Kenzo paused for a few minutes contemplating to answer, a knowing smirk on his face aware that I was punching myself dying to know. "How I'm aware that is? There's a rumour going about. They're saying the fallen liberators took in a new kid. Let's be real Ken Tanaka. We're cursed! We might as well embrace that fact and live how we please!" Kenzo said proudly. "Scum like you disgust me." I spat out. "You're the filth in this world that ruins our name!" I resisted his ideals strongly. His face resorted to disgust, his fist clenching. "Alright, you think your tough big shot? Let's put that to the test." He proclaimed swinging at me with a right hook. I remembered my training in these moments thanks to my instructor one of the fallen liberators Kenji Hayashi. He taught me combat skills. Despite myself possessing the ability to generate fire it was a necessary asset to withhold when your life is balanced between life and death especially when you're fighting for the sake of others for those who can't. That's exactly what strikes my motivation. Which is why I will defeat anyone who stands in my way. So I can cure this cursed world.
My eyes glowed a bright firey orange, as I threw a punch flames igniting along my arm towards my fist, with a strike to the gut his clothes caught alight. Kenzo scrunched his face in pain as he landed in a bunch of garbage disposal bins crashing into the far back concrete wall, in which case would become collateral damage, to the people who stayed in the building above.
While Kenzo was down on the ground I swooped in my super speed paying off as a useful asset swinging myself into the air as I landed down onto the man's stomach the impact most definitely being deadly as he threw up blood. "You possess fire...?!" He managed to mutter in shock his eyes widening. "Just who the hell are you ?!" He questioned as I put the fire out with a flick of my finger from the bins which spread to the building above. "Ren Tanaka," I answered as I walked away grabbing my phone from within my pocket and hitting the dial button, to my instructor Kenji's contact. "I heard you took care of the situation." Kenji already took the words out of my mouth as I stopped dead in my tracks. "Hey, what the hell! How do you know that?!" I questioned him in disbelief. "Look up." He said as my eyes darted to the sky and there laid his presence hovering above as he stood on one of the rooftop buildings and was watching the entire Thing. "Hey man!." He shouted from above, Kenji dropping lower to the ground. "I can't lie the rest of us thought you would have been a goner starting with someone as strong-willed as him," Kenji said rubbing the back of his neck, I looked beside him and saw Two other Boys geared up as my face dropped.
"OH COME ON YOU GUYS COULD HAVE HAD FAITH IN ME!" I Argued back dramatically throwing my hand to my heart. "Enough with the dramatics, we have bigger fish to fry." Akito Yuto spoke as he appeared behind Kenji which meant things were serious. Akito wasn't the type to joke when it came to these things from what I learned Akito was Kenji's right-hand man. Never much so in general that is. The Two looked at me with confusion and also concern when they realised where I was looking. The Kingdom of Lunaris. Where the Rebellion lies.
"Ren what are you doing, Aren't you coming!" Akito spoke. "Yeah, He's right shouldn't we celebrate your very first fight?" Jun questioned with worry as he also appeared next to Akito I felt his hand placed on my shoulder as an act of reassurance. I couldn't help but think of my home town. The attack was brutal, with lives slain in broad daylight. Taken away mercilessly due to the rebellion's wrath. Buildings were destroyed, and Homes turned to Ash and blood. My home simply awaiting my return as I glanced back at the smoke on the other side of the water that was held up by the border heavily guarded, now one of the Rebelions' territories. "No."' Akito said firmly walking towards my left side as Jun stood by my right his hand still placed on my shoulder, The two of them reading my thoughts as if I were an open book. "I'm afraid I have to Akito. It's my Home." I replied with absolute truth, but a hint of unsteadiness remained.
"Are you sure you want to Return? If they see a fallen on Their land, you would be taken into custody, we can't risk losing you as an asset. And as a friend." Jun spoke with concern, his last words were genuine. Akito and Jun exchanged knowing looks with understanding before turning their gazes back towards mine. "It's settled, we're coming with you," Akito announced as he walked on further along the path towards the border and Jun followed. "This is my problem! Not yours. You both belong in the fallen city district down here, not above the land that's already been taken." I spoke trying to convince my friends not to come along. "I think you're forgetting these lands also used to be our homes. Everyone who remains hidden in the shadows in the fallen city, had their homes taken away from what is now the kingdom Lunaris!" Akito argued back. "And people who are on the run from The rebellion in general. They have all stolen something from us Ren Tanaka." Jun said as he stopped in his tracks clenching his fist his brows furrowed reminding me that I wasn't the only person who had something taken away from them.
"I'm sorry. Jun Akito. It was never my intention to insult either of you. I guess I'm just used to doing things like this on my own." I said speaking of my past Kenji just minding his own business sat on a box of crates lighting a cigar. My family was taken away from me at a young age. My Younger brother Evander who I assumed was kidnapped by the Rebellion was missing for three years. I had to fend for myself for many years up until the age of eight years old until Uncle Van took me in as his own. "It's alright .. our main priority is trying to get over this border," Akito informed the four of us jun giving a nod in agreement. "The kingdom of Lunaris.. where the Rebellion lurks. Are you sure this is safe?" Jun questioned with a nervous gulp beginning to climb the wall. "Of course not," Akito said with a sly smirk already at the top, which I rolled my eyes at. The four of us reached the top now all standing on the wall looking over the kingdom of Lunaris far more advanced than the fallen city. "Holy shit," Jun muttered at the sight, myself watching in amazement as I glanced over to Akito and could tell something was wrong. His eyes held hatred, his fist clenched, as everything that ever bad had happened to him circulated his very veins at this moment.
"So this is what these bastards have been hiding from us. Food water. A huge developed Kingdom with healthy people, we had heard of the Rumours, but this is insane." Akitos's tone was filled with disgust and hatred. "Lunaris will learn to respect our people, and us," I spoke proudly a face of determination Jun and Akito both smiling. "Yeah they will." the Three said in sync.
