1 - The Lone Boy
Chapter 1: The Lone Boy
Shinto's Room, City A
The scene opens in a dimly lit room. The sound of rain patters softly against the window. A young boy, Shinto Taiga, sits on the edge of his bed, staring at the ceiling. His small frame is dwarfed by the oversized bed. His eyes are filled with longing and sadness.
Shinto's POV: (They say being a Kraken makes you one of the strongest beings in the universe. Then why do I feel so powerless?)
Shinto sighs and shifts his gaze to a framed picture on the bedside table. It shows his parents, Kirisaki and Falma, smiling proudly as they stand in their hero uniforms. Shinto picks up the frame, his fingers tracing their faces.
Shinto (whispering):"Mom... Dad... why did you have to leave?"
Flashback to the day his parents left for their mission. Kirisaki kneels in front of Shinto, placing a firm hand on his shoulder.
Kirisaki:"Shinto, you need to be strong while we're gone. Protect the house, and listen to Uncle Hugo, alright?"
Shinto (nodding reluctantly): "I will, Dad... but how long will you be gone?"
Falma (smiling warmly): "Not too long, my little Kraken. We'll be back before you know it."
The memory fades as Shinto tightens his grip on the frame. Back in the present, he sets it down and buries his face in his hands.
Kitchen, City A
The smell of freshly brewed tea wafts through the kitchen. Hugo Boss, a towering figure with a commanding presence, is seated at the dining table, flipping through reports from the Monster Association. He glances up as Shinto enters the room.
Hugo: "Morning, kid. You look like you didn’t sleep again."
Shinto (shrugging): "What’s the point? It’s always the same."
Hugo leans back in his chair, observing Shinto closely. Despite his gruff demeanor, there’s a hint of concern in his eyes.
Hugo: "You know, sulking won’t bring them back. Your father’s out there searching for Falma. They both love you more than anything."
Shinto: "If they love me, why did they leave? Why couldn’t they stay and teach me about... everything?"
Hugo exhales deeply, setting his papers aside. He motions for Shinto to sit down.
Hugo: "Listen, Shinto. The world we live in isn’t kind. Your parents are heroes because they have the power and responsibility to protect it. But you? You’ve got that same power inside you. You just need to find it."
Shinto (muttering): "What power? I can’t even transform."
Hugo: "Yet. You can’t transform yet. That’s why I’m here—to guide you. But you have to want it. Do you?"
Shinto looks up, his eyes narrowing with determination for the first time in days.
Shinto: "I want to be strong. Strong enough to bring them back."
Hugo (smirking): "Good. Then finish your tea. Training starts today."
Training Grounds, MD Academy
The scene shifts to the outdoor training grounds of MD Academy. Despite the overcast skies, the field is alive with activity as young monsters hone their skills. Shinto stands awkwardly in the center, watching others effortlessly display their powers.
Shinto's POV: (They’re all so strong... What if I can’t do it?)
Hugo claps a hand on Shinto’s shoulder, snapping him out of his thoughts.
Hugo: "Don’t compare yourself to them. Everyone starts somewhere. Now, show me what you’ve got."
Shinto (hesitant): "I... I don’t know how."
Hugo: "Close your eyes. Focus. Feel the Kraken blood coursing through you. It’s there, waiting for you to command it."
Shinto closes his eyes, trembling slightly as he concentrates. For a brief moment, a faint blue aura begins to glow around him, but it quickly fizzles out. He collapses to his knees, panting.
Shinto: "I can’t do it. I’m too weak."
Hugo (firmly): "No, you’re not. You’re just scared. And that’s normal. But being strong means pushing past that fear. Get up. We try again."
Shinto looks up at Hugo, his resolve hardening. He wipes the sweat from his brow and gets to his feet.
Shinto: "I’ll do it. I won’t give up."
The camera pans out, showing Shinto standing tall against the backdrop of the vast training grounds, his journey just beginning.
