Chapter 1 : The Encounter
The alley was narrow and dimly lit, the only sound the distant hum of the city. I stood frozen, my heart pounding in my chest, as I waited for him.
Asher Blackwood.
The name was whispered in fear and reverence, a reminder of the power and the danger that lurked in the shadows. They said he was ruthless, merciless, and soulless. But I had to see him for myself.
I took a deep breath and stepped forward, my eyes scanning the alley for any sign of movement. The air was thick with the stench of rotting garbage and decay, and I could feel the weight of the city’s darkness pressing down on me.
Suddenly, a figure emerged from the shadows. Asher Blackwood was even more imposing than I had imagined, his piercing blue eyes seeming to bore into my very soul. His chiseled features were set in a cold, calculating mask, and his dark hair fell across his forehead like a curtain of night.
“Welcome, little one,” he said, his voice low and husky. “I’ve been waiting for you.”
I felt a shiver run down my spine as Asher’s eyes seemed to strip me bare, leaving me vulnerable and exposed. I tried to speak, but my voice caught in my throat.
“What do you want?” I managed to stammer finally.
Asher’s eyes gleamed with amusement, and he took a step closer to me. “I want you,” he said, his voice dripping with malice. “I want to make you mine.”
I felt a surge of fear mixed with excitement, and I knew that I was in grave danger. But I couldn’t help myself. I was drawn to Asher’s darkness, like a moth to flame.
