Chapter 1
Some confess to having a great relationship with rheir family and say something like: “you would really like my mom” or “guess where my dad is taking me for thanksgiving”. Well not me, my family is half a italian, half american crime family. More familiarly known as the chicago mafia or the Giordano crime family. It doesnt matter what were known as we are and will always be hated by some and feared by the rest either way.
Being part of a crime family is thrilling yet lonely. I have never been able to have a proper childhood or make any real friends. I have always been home-schooled due to the amount of people who were terrified of my family. However, that was all in the past now. For my 16th birtday was tomorrow so my family felt i was ready to truly become a part of the family and not just a little girl sitting on the sidelines. Apart from my mom that is.
my mother is called andrea giordano-hernandez. She is a full american who was raised in a small, poor town called owsley in kentucky. She kept her maiden name Hernandez to honour her mother and father who were very poor, working class folk. They never had enough money to fend for themselves as they were both born into penniless, beat down families who had cut them off when thay found out they were pregnant with my mother, leaving them stranded with a child on the way. My mom was a strong-hearted, brave woman who was always putting others before herself no matter what. Ever since she gave birth to me her main objective was to make sure i had a great life. However, her choice of husband made that pretty much impossible.
My dad is called Renato Giordano and he was the first born son of Donatello Giordano. Donatello, my grandfather was the head of the family ever since his father antonio died. Meaning that my father would become the head of the family when my grandfather died. My father is very head strong and sadly, always put the business of the family before his real family.
My mother always knew that my dad wasnt the best option for her but she knew that if she ever left him it would cause a lot of trouble and she knew she would still need help money wise, but my father would be too selfish to help her. So she just tried to stop herself from getting herself involved in the crime aspect of our confusing family. Although, me and my mother did both love my dad no matter how ignorant he could be.
