Chapter One

In the quaint village of Oakland, nestled in the heart of a lush valley, there lived a girl named Aria. Her life had been marred by tragedy from a tender age, her parents succumbed to a devastating illness that left her alone and adrift. The villagers, though well-intentioned, couldn’t help but whisper among themselves about the misfortune that seemed to follow her like a shadow. Despite her efforts to find solace in the routine of daily life, Aria couldn’t shake off the feeling that she was somehow cursed.

Just few days before the full moon, the village elder, a wise, aged man with a long white beard, announced to the gathered villagers that they must stay indoors for the next two nights, for the crimson moon was set to rise. Legend had it that the crimson moon granted wishes to those who dared to venture out under its light, but it is also said to bring a terrible curse upon those who did so without proper preparation.

The villagers believed that to walk under the crimson moon, one had to be cleansed of all impurities by the high priestesses who dwelled in the fundamental temple on the outskirts of the village. This ancient temple, with its crumbling stone walls and intricate carvings, held the secrets of the crimson moon and the mystical powers it possessed. The high priestesses and priests would perform elaborate rituals under the light of the crimson moon, seeking to harness its power and bring prosperity to the village.

The crimson moon, a celestial event that occurred once every century, was a time of great anticipation and fear. The villagers were both thrilled and terrified at the prospect of its arrival, and Aria was no exception.

As the night deepened, the village of Oakland slumbered, wrapped in a soft, velvety darkness. The sounds of crickets chirping provided a soothing background melody, a lullaby that seemed to rock the world into a peaceful slumber. But Aria’s heart remained restless, her spirit stirred by a deep longing to experience the magic of the crimson moon.

She yearned to stand under the bloody moon’s vale, to witness its power and majesty. The crimson moon was said to grant wishes to those who dared to venture out under its light, and Aria’s heart ached with a deep desire to make a wish. She wished to find out why misfortune always seemed to befall her, why tragedy had followed her like a shadow since childhood.

After her parents had passed away, she had lost her grandmother, the only family member she had left. The pain of those losses still lingered, a deep ache that seemed to throb with every beat of her heart. And then, the first chance she had taken at love had ended in tragedy, her lover taken from her by a cruel fate.

Aria’s eyes stung with unshed tears as she thought about the series of unfortunate events that had shaped her life. She felt like she was living under a dark cloud, a perpetual shadow that followed her everywhere. But tonight, under the light of the crimson moon, she hoped to find some answers.

That night, as the crimson moon began its ascent into the sky, a sense of urgency settled over the village of Oakland. People rushed to secure themselves indoors. Slamming shutters closed. Covering windows with thick, protective blinds. The air was with a mix of fear and superstition, as if the very presence of the moon was a harbinger of doom.

Aria laid down on her bed, her eyes fixed on the chimney-sized window that offered a glimpse of the moon’s bloody glow. The moon exerted a pull on her, a siren’s call that seemed to awaken a deep, primal longing within her soul. Everything in her yearned to be outside, to stand beneath the moon’s radiant light and feel its power coursing through her veins. But she tried to hold back, her fear of the unknown and the warnings of the villagers keeping her anchored to her bed.

As she peered out the window, the moon’s crimson light cast an eerie glow over the deserted streets of Oakland. The shadows seemed to twist and writhe, like living things, and the wind rustled through the trees with an unsettling, mournful sigh. Aria felt her heart pounded in her chest, her senses on high alert as she struggled to resist the moon’s pull. She knew that she was taking a terrible risk by even considering venturing out, but she couldn’t shake the feeling that the moon held the key to unlocking the secrets of her past and the mysteries of her destiny. writing here…
