Preface

My name is Brian Melena. My story begins in the latter part of 2021. That is when I died and soon after turned into the most advanced cyber enhanced human ever built. I call myself human. However, I am not sure that you could really say that I am human anymore. When I died, the majority of my body was damaged beyond repair. Essentially the only thing that was left of me was my brain. They used that to provide the brains of a machine that looked human by all accounts, but in fact was machine.

Prior to that, I graduated high school in 2001 and married my high school sweet heart Sherry Ann Corbette. Sherry was a beautiful redhead whose eyes could stare you down and whose smile was the very essence of captivation. She was my sweet jewel as I called her. The only girl I ever loved. She and I had started dating in 1998. We married the summer of 2001.

Shortly after we married I joined the Army where I spent two tours in combat operations around the world and more specifically near Iraq and Afghanistan. Not long after I returned from my second tour I was recruited into a highly secretive but elite counterterrorist group known as ATLD or Advanced Terrorists Locate and Destroy. Our job was to identify terrorist sleeper cells and agents in both the United States and abroad.

Once we identified them, we were tasked with taking them down thru any means necessary. That usually entailed finding and killing the terrorists before they had the chance to harm anyone else. In other words, we would find the agents and kill them by any means necessary without harming civilians of course.

By early 2010, I had registered over 50 kills in both the United States and abroad bringing down nine different terrorists sleeper cells. I also was responsible for assisting local, state and federal law enforcement agencies in taking down some of the highest profile criminals they were tasked with finding. At one point I had taken out nine of the FBI’s ten most wanted list in a period of three months.

In the early summer of 2010 I decided that I had enough and chose to leave the ATLD to spend my time in retirement with my wife. Ten years may not seem like a reasonable time frame to retire. However, being a special operative in a highly secret group such as the ATLD did have its advantages. When I retired I was financially set for life.

My closest friend and confidant Travis Lee Smith was the CEO of TLS Cybernetics at that time. The company was known for making advanced prosthetic limbs for military service members who had lost arms or legs during combat. When I retired, my friend offered me a job as a security envoy for his company. The pay was good and frankly it gave me a lot of free time to be with my wife. So I took the job in plans for having a second retirement. Frankly I really did not need the job. However, Travis was of course my closest friend and did offer me partial ownership of the company.

It was shortly after that when I had an auto accident on my way home. The driver of the semi that hit me was drunk and veered into my lane of the road. I didn’t have enough time to react. We hit head on killing me instantly or so it seemed. Six months later, I was brought online. I had two shunts placed in my brain. One shunt was placed in the lower, backside of the brain to suppress my emotions. The other shunt was placed near my frontal cortex to suppress long term memory recall.

Actually the suppression of long term memory was a rather tricky process as the purpose was to keep me from recalling my former life. However, the reason a human brain was used and more specifically my brain was because I had field experience on counterterrorism and in fact one of the best. My knowledge along with the fact that my body was now a machine gave me a serious tactical advantage over my human counterparts.

My new life was defined by the code name Cyber Enhanced Self Aware Robot aka CESAR. The following is my story and I leave it to the world as evidence of how corruption and greed can change lives in the most unimaginable ways possible.
