Prologue

“Sweety, come here. Come to mommy.” A dark silhouette entered the silent room, which was filled with dust and broken pieces of furniture scattered everywhere.

One hand is holding the candle to dissipate the darkness around them and the other one is holding a sharp steel knife covered in thick sticky blue liquid dripping down making dark shadows on the ground.

The darkness of the room could have disappeared through the glowing warmth emitting from the candle but the darkness and greed residing inside her heart are impossible to erase.

“You want to play. Let’s play then.”A woman’s voice booms in the silent walls.

“There is no escape for you, princess. Come here, and I might show you some mercy by making your punishment less painful.”She chuckles looking around for her victim.

The smile around the corner of her lips could make any man’s heart fluttered and charmed in desire, but the little girl, hiding in the gap between a dark mahogany old grandpa clock and an old wooden cabinet, knew better. The purple dark hues and the welts on her back were the living proof of the story the four walls of her bedroom witnessed in the cold long nights.

Her skinny sweating hands are at the mercy of her sharp canines as she is biting them harshly to deliberately avoid making any sound that gives away her whereabouts.

It is too much for six-years-old but she learns to accept the harsh reality and grows up before time. When kids around her age are whining and crying over their broken toys, she hides in the old attic of her parents to tend to the fresh wounds marring her porcelain skin. When kids are demanding a grand birthday celebration, she hopes to have a piece of bread after being starved for days.

Life is not easy, her is the worst.

Sometimes, dying felt an easy option as it brought instant relief from all the pain, trouble, and assault one had to endure. Unfortunately, for her, she could only hope as she was not the luckiest to walk on the earth.

The fat drops of tears run down her cheeks and she makes no effort to wipe them off as her body is trembling in fear of the unknown. The fear crawls slowly and deeply inside her heart, rooted its legs inside the pumping machine to the core, claiming its own territory.

“Sammy, come here now! You don’t want to anger mommy. Come out or you will regret it.”The woman was at the end of her patience.

She wanders around the room looking for her prey, ready to shred the girl, names Sammy, into pieces at first sight.

“Mommy is waiting for you. If you want to play hide and seek, I don’t mind. But when I get you—“She pauses and a malicious look flashes in her eyes for a second before it vanishes into thin air.

“—you will be in trouble.”She sneers and drags Sammy out of her hiding spot.

“Le-leave m-me…” The girl cries and tries to free herself from the painful grip but to no avail.

“Ah-ah-ha. I finally found you. Now, where do you think you are going? Now let me show you what happens to the brat who troubled their mommy?”She laughs like a psychic before slapping the girl harshly.

The girl fell to the ground with a thud. Her body turns at an odd angle due to the woman holding her down.

She grips her hair hard until a few chunks come off followed by a scream.

“Please, mommy. Leave me. Please don’t. Mo- mommy. P-Please, don’t do this to me. It-it’s hurting. P-Please... I promise I’ll behave and become your good girl please don’t do this. It’s hurt.”She mumbles weekly.

She begs for mercy, but the rain of kicks and punches showering over her petite body never stops. They never stopped when she closed her eyes and turned lifeless in her pool of blood.

Even after torturing her to the maximum, the woman doesn’t stop. She grabs the old broken wooden piece from the ground and hits Sammy on her head.

Satisfying her sick desire, she removes the locket around her neck and opens the lid of the small flask before filling it with the small girl’s blood. Closing it, she keeps it inside her jeans pocket and glances around.

“Now, I have it. I shall show mercy on this little slut and let her heal. After all, she is going to help me earn money with her special blood” She picks up her from the floor and ambles out of the door away from the room which now going to terrify the girl for the rest of her life.

She walks down the corridor, and out of the house until she is swallowed by the darkness. What is left is the pain and fear for the girl's wellbeing.
