Chapter 1-4
1: The Dream Job and the Night That Changed Everything
The boys had just stepped off the bus, their hearts racing with excitement. They had landed their dream internships at one of the most prestigious companies in the city. They were buzzing with adrenaline, each of them eager to prove themselves.
Among the group was Jae-hyun, a charming, confident guy with dark, tousled hair and a smile that could light up a room. His friends, Min-seok, Kyu-ho, and Hyun-bin, followed closely behind, their chatter and laughter echoing in the night air. They had all earned their place here, but tonight, the celebrations were about something else—their newfound freedom.
The group made their way to The Velvet, a trendy club known for its glamorous atmosphere and exclusive crowd. The bass of the music vibrated through the walls as they entered, the crowd alive with energy. The lights flashed in sync with the beat, and the smell of perfume and cologne mixed in the air, adding to the electric vibe.
Jae-hyun scanned the room, eyes sweeping across the crowd. He spotted a table near the bar, where a group of girls was gathered. One of them stood out—a girl with long, jet-black hair and a confident aura that contrasted the soft glow of the club’s lights. She was laughing with her friends, her eyes sparkling with mischief. He felt an instant pull toward her, something magnetic in the way she carried herself.
“Hyung, she’s perfect,” Kyu-ho said, nudging him and noticing where his gaze was fixed.
Jae-hyun smirked. “I know.”
The guys exchanged knowing glances, a silent agreement passing between them. Tonight was about enjoying themselves. But Jae-hyun had already set his sights on someone.
He walked over casually, his confidence shining through. The girl noticed him approach, her eyes narrowing for a moment as if sizing him up.
“Mind if I join you?” Jae-hyun asked, his voice smooth like honey.
She raised an eyebrow, intrigued. “And why would I let you?”
Jae-hyun smiled, his charm undeniable. “Because, unlike everyone else here, I can actually make this night memorable.”
Her friends giggled, and she rolled her eyes. “You’re confident, I’ll give you that.”
“And a little daring,” he added, taking a step closer. “But what really matters is if you can handle me.”
She laughed, her gaze flickering with something more than amusement. “We’ll see.”
They talked, the chemistry between them undeniable. Jae-hyun flirted shamelessly, his words smooth, yet honest. He shared stories of his life, of the struggles and triumphs, making her laugh with ease. She listened, her own walls slowly crumbling. She wasn’t immune to his charm, not in the least.
As the night wore on, the conversation turned more flirtatious, their bodies inching closer as the music pulsed louder around them. The tension between them was palpable, thickening the air with every word exchanged.
Minutes later, they were in a corner booth, the music a distant hum in their ears as Jae-hyun leaned in, his lips brushing against her ear. “I told you I’d make this night unforgettable,” he whispered.
She tilted her head, meeting his gaze. There was a fire in her eyes now, a fire he could easily feed. “I’m starting to believe you.”
And just like that, the night took a turn. The rest of the world faded away as they got lost in each other. A whirlwind of passion followed, heated kisses, and lingering touches.
The Morning After
Jae-hyun woke up with a pounding headache, the sunlight streaming in through the blinds causing his eyes to squint. He rolled over, expecting to see her next to him. But the bed was empty.
Panic set in for a brief moment, but then he noticed the note on the pillow next to him. He reached for it, unfolding it carefully.
“Thank you for a great night. – Ji-eun.”
A smile tugged at the corners of his lips as he leaned back against the pillow, letting the words sink in. He’d made a mark on her, no doubt. And somehow, he knew this wasn’t the end of their story. It was only the beginning.
