Prologue 💕
The piano had always been Y/n’s secret.
Not a loud, flashy secret, like a talent meant to be shown off in front of crowded rooms. No, it was something much quieter. Like the whisper of pages turning in an empty library or the soft hum of the wind brushing through the trees.
Y/n’s fingers danced over the keys, coaxing out notes that didn’t just fill the air they seemed to fill the spaces inside her that words could never reach.
This was where she felt safe. Where she didn’t have to explain why she hated crowds or why her voice wavered every time someone asked her to speak up. The piano didn’t demand perfection or bravery; it just let her be.
The soft melody she played now wasn’t anything special it wasn’t even a complete song. Just a jumble of emotions, pieced together like a fragile puzzle. Sadness, hope, fear, all spilling out in the only language she really understood.
She paused for a moment, letting her hands rest on her lap. Outside the café window, the city buzzed with life cars honking, people laughing, lights flashing. But in here, it was just her and the piano.
And maybe that was enough.
At least, that’s what she told herself.
But somewhere deep down, in the quietest corner of her heart, Y/n wanted more.
She wanted someone to hear her music, not just the sound, but the story it told. She wanted someone to understand the words she couldn’t say, hidden in the spaces between the notes.
She just didn’t know how to take that first step.
So, when a stranger approached her after her song, looking at her as if he’d just heard something incredible, Y/n didn’t know what to do.
“Beautiful,” he said, his voice low but certain.
Y/n blinked, unsure if he was talking about the song or something else entirely.
And that was the moment everything began.
