Willow

Taking a last look at myself in the womens washroom i fluff my golden hair, my emerald gown clinging to every curve in my body. Satisfied that i still appeared presentable i leave the washroom. Standing just outside is my twin brother William. “Ready?” He produces his arm when i set my hand in the crook of his elbow.

“Next we are honored to have our newly appointed Alpha Zack of the Celestial pack”

I hear my Alphas name echo is the hallway, my brother puts his best smile on and i follow his lead. We’re next.

“Now, presenting Alpha Zacks TWIN Betas! I know folks! Thats a first! William and his twin sister Willow!”

Taking a deep breath my brother and i approach the stands, he gives a quick bow and i curtsy. Resuming my hand back in the crook of his elbow he leads us down the steps onto the floor of the ball. The moment my foot touches the floor an over whelming scent that reminded me of sage and freshly cut grass takes over my senses. I momentarily shut my eyes and release a low moan. The smell is amazingly intoxicating, i sniff harder filling myself with satisfaction.

Momentarily i feel my Alphas hand rest on the small of my back as we speak with an unknown male duo. Presumably another Alpha and Beta.

Im at a ball where all Alphas in our surrounding 20 pack radius gather to form alliances in case of attacks. Typically its a single Alpha and Beta, however in our case my Alpha has put me and my twin brother as the appointed Betas. Afterall two heads are better then one. Correct?

A glass of champagne is handed to me as my Alpha continues to chat away with whomever this male is. My mind going back to the wonderful intoxicating scent. As my mind continues to wander i fail to hear the male approaching from behind only startling everyone when a low growl breaks into the air. The hair standing on the back of my neck, goosebumps rising along my arms. I shudder in delight? Before i can turn my Alpha steps in front of me blocking my view.

“Get behind me!” He forced my petite body behind his own. I couldnt understand what was happening, my brother stood beside our Alpha shielding my body from whoever was speaking. “According to all laws mates must not be kept apart.” Another voice spoke. Mates? Whats going on? Is that why i smelt something that resembled freshly cut grass and sage? Is my mate here? My Alpha spoke once more, the growl he released with his words sounding like poison to my ears “i cannot allow her to be mates with someone such as him”! Then the most ferocious growl erupted, the floor shaking beneath my feet. The power radiating throughout the ballroom.

Closing my eyes i muster all the courage i can manage and push between my Alpha and brother. Standing in front of them is a man standing at around 6’6 with midnight black hair and eyes as green as the grass in the summer fields that sit just a 20 minute walk from my packhouse.

The minute my baby blues land on his grass greens my heart begins to throb in my chest. My wolf begins to chant mate on repeat. I take a thoughtless step foward ignoring my Alpha and brothers desperate hands trying to pull me backwards. My Alphas arms around my waist pull me flush against his chest, my mate growling each growl more and more with the pull of power and warning. I place my hand on my Alphas wrist turning i give him a smile, “ill be alright.” Just like that his arm falls loose and i find myself once more walking towards my mate. The second im in arms reach my mate scoops me into his chest, his nose going to my neck and sniffing. Like im a dream that will fade. The electric butterflies floating from my stomach into my entire body erupt and i let out a low groan of pleasure.

With no time to think about what my body is doing im swooped up into my mates arms and carried from the ball room. As my mind registers to whats happening i start to struggle “no! My brother! My Alpha!” A desperate plea escaping my lips. My brother and i having never been seperated since birth.. my mate ignoring my cries climbs into the back seat of a black SUV holding me tightly to his chest.

Willow! My brother and Alpha scream into my mind, tears quickly falling as sobs wrack my body. The SUV speeding down the twisting road. Further and further from the only people ive ever loved. It doesnt take long as my vison begins to fade, my sobs causing my body to fall asleep.
