"I delayed reading this because it was on subscription, HOWEVER, because I paid for "The Red Rose" (awesome story), naturally I steered here after I finished that one. If you love a really good romance story, and don't care its an MM perspective, I assure you its worth the subscription. The story follows Dom and Will as their friendship grows into something more than just gym buddies. It's a story of discovery, awakening, caretaking, desire and love. Confronting your close family with your new choice of lifestyle and new partner. It's a beautiful love story between two beautiful souls."

"Hey there! Yeah you! The person scrolling through these reviews trying to decide if they want to read Gym Crush by M. Lane. Let's be real, that's why you're here. It happens like this: You're scrolling through Inkitt and you're like, I want something really good. Really, really good. Something that I will not be able to put down. Something that will give me the feels. Then you see the cover of Gym Crush and you're like....ooooooh hot. And then read the summary....and you're saying to yourself, 'I'm intrigued.' But this is a huge commitment. Look at all these chapters.... I'd have to subscribe....siiiiigh. So you click on the reviews link, hoping that you can see what other people have said and how they felt about it. All the other reviews are going to tell you it's a great story, because it is. All those other reviews are written by people who have read MM romance before. That's where my review comes in! Lane got my MM cherry. Why is this important for the sake of this review? Well, let me tell you: I have read hundreds of MF romance novels. Literally, hundreds. I'm a bit of an expert on MF romance. But MM never interested me. Not really. Oh I have no issue with two dudes loving each other. At all. But as I lack the plumbing to really appreciate a MM romance, I've not really *avoided* them in the past, but there were other MF romances I figured I'd enjoy more and the MM ones on my list just sort of...sat there. I love *love.* I love that flutter in the belly when your crush comes into view. I love the painful awkwardness of new love, the hand touches, the lingering glances, the gentle touches that are thrilling and confusing, and the instant connections- the *chemistry.* GYM CRUSH HAS THIS IN SPADES. I'm going to try to review this without spoiling too much of it. M. Lane makes Dom the most relatable and realistic man on the planet going through what is a traumatic and confusing time in his life. The inner monologue is on point. Lane's depiction of Dom's inner turmoil in not only questioning his own sexuality, but facing an alternative that is so taboo and far removed from a character that was raised in the bible-belt, with religious parents, and conservative relatives....it's just so damn believable and relatable. Will, with his career and emotions and desires is three dimensional, which is true for all characters in this, but for Will it was done so well, and his care and patience with Dom....when you're reading about how Will handles Dom's slow personal discovery, it's really layered. He's excited by this new love experience, forgetting how jaded he is with past relationships, taking a controlling position in the relationship to help Dom navigate confusing emotions, and all while still being the same goofy, sarcastic, and loveable person. There are several times where I thought this should be called a cozy romance because man, you just feel like you're wrapped in a warm blanket for 60% of this book. It's cozy and soft and FUNNY because these guys are still guys and they still act that way with each other. Then there's the last 40% where you know...drama and Lane, darling, we're going to talk about how you kept me dying for at least 5-6 chapters in a row. My anxiety on what happens with Dom and his family was so bad I didn't get to sleep until like 4 in the morning. It's that good though! So, if you're on the fence- if you're like, the cover is super hot, and the premise sounds good but I'm just not sure I'm ready to commit to this.... do it. Subscribe. It's *worth* it. I have never read an MM romance, start to finish, until now. This book has fully converted me (lol, hey look Dom, we're in a club!). So really, I challenge you to get through three chapters and not keep going. You will love Dom's inner struggles and mini-freakouts. You will love Will's caretaker tendencies, All the sweet, tender moments where these two just make your heart melt. (And you're really gonna love all the spicy chapters because hot damn.) I have avoided MM but I loved this story start to finish. Thank you Lane for putting your magic out into the world. VC"

I absolutely loved this beautiful, and heartbreaking story at times, thank you @M. Lane for writing this very realistic story about love, two people who were drawn to each other instantly, and knew this was more than just being friends, and a gym crush. Domenic is a very lovable young man, his innocence, awkward shyness, and blushes are so cute. I was cheering for him throughout the whole story, i just wanted him to find love and happiness. William is super hot and sexy, but he never imagined he would fall so hard for someone his total opposite. Will is the type of man that is in charge and has total control of everything in his life, everything except that special someone to share his bed, home, life and love with.❤️ I highly, highly recommend The Gym Crush as a must read, it is a story that will leave you believing, knowing, and seeing that LOVE doesn’t discriminate.❤️❤️"

"I absolutely loved this story! The writing is engaging, funny, and full of heart.. it kept me hooked from start to finish. The characters are well-developed and relatable, But Will became my favourite character. His personality brought so much charm and depth to the narrative. I also really appreciated the warmth and closeness of Dom's family-they were portrayed so beautifully, adding an extra layer of emotional connection to the story. Overall, a wonderfully written, feel-good read that left me smiling."

"Phew! What a book! It is well worth it in the end I promise you. A bit of a hump to get over at the beginning before it actually starts getting into it. I felt like the writing style was deliberately long winded at the start but when things actually started moving it became easier to read. I would have loved to hear more from Will's pov overall and sometimes when his 5cent did come into the picture it got a bit muddled with Dom's. I really was properly laughing and nearly crying at the end there. It is so so worth it. I really do feel like an overall edit for sentence structure and ease of reading and this could be a sale worthy book. Well done."

The characters were engaging and I felt a genuine need to continue reading to follow their journey.
