Prologue: Selene

Do you believe in monsters? How about magic? Superheroes maybe? Just take a moment and think of all you believe to exist. Now think of everything you want to know and wish to understand. Ask yourself what would you do with the power to create; play God so to speak.
If you are a sane human being you will not claim to know everything. If you do, that’s another concept to handle later. Most understand they have limits to the world they inhabit. They know that if they tried to study, learn, and figure out all they possibly could within their life’s time frame, they would still only scratch the surface of the universe’s truth.
But what if you had power? Real power. To affect lives and change the course of the world through your actions. Would you believe me if I told you that you hold that power no matter who you are?
Perspective, experience, intuition, discipline, and empathy, are all just some skills and abilities within every individual that contain power. I possess the same strength that you do in a sense. Mine just comes with far more responsibility.
Many call me a Saint, something of a creator that influences their lives. Others say I’m a goddess, one of divine power and order. Neither of those is necessarily wrong, it just happens to be far more complex than that.
I am Selene, and in the story to follow you will understand more of my complexity. You will see that my power is over a race many believe to be myth. My children, my responsibility in this universe, is the werewolf.
More knowledge on the subject of my power over the wolf shifters will come later. What I should say now is that humans hold another special piece of my heart. I often pair them with my wolves. I find their perspectives bring new order to my packs.
Many are strong, and strength was what I needed when I found her, my new Luna. This story is hers: the human who became a wolf, the human who became a warrior, and the human who became the Queen of wolves.

Hi NatalieJean,
I just finished reading your story The Queen of Wolves and I loved it so much. Your writing is amazing, and I kept thinking how cool it would look as a comic.
I really loved the scene in Chapter 1 where Jean is shot during a robbery at the gas station. The intense moment, combined with her subsequent encounter with the giant black wolf, would translate beautifully into a dynamic comic panel.
I'm a commissioned artist, and I'd love to draw your story into a comic/manga. No pressure though, I just think your work would look awesome in comic form.
