Chapter 1
The voice in the speaker spoke to me again, as i sat on the floor of my room.
"Test subject, are you ready for the next test?"
"Yes" i reply.
"Good, your next test will be an observation test. I expect nothing less than a A+ from you."
"Ok."
"The test is simple, all you have to do is stare at a white wall for 3 hours, you're not allowed to talk or look at anything else."
"Ok."
A white wall rose from the floor in front of me, it covered the entire room, except for a small hole on the floor to pass food and water through. I sat on the floor and stared at the wall, it was a blank and dull colour. After about 30 minutes i started to feel bored, but i tried to focus on the test and ignore the boredom.
The boredom continued, every now and then my mind wandered and i would have to force myself to look at the wall again, It was difficult to stay focused for so long.
The 3 hours were taking forever, my mind kept getting distracted, the white walls were boring and empty, they seemed to make the room feel even smaller and more claustrophobic than it already was. After what felt like an eternity, the timer finally rang, signalling that the test was over.
"You may take a break" The voice said through the speaker. The white wall lowered back into the floor, and the room was once again empty and boring, i had to resist the urge to just lay down and sleep.
As i sat on the floor, the door to my room opened, and a tray of food and water was pushed through the hole in the floor. The door closed again, leaving me alone with the food and water, the food looked like some kind of bland mush, and the water was in a small plastic cup. I ate all the food and drank the water, it was tasteless and unsatisfying, it didn't help to quell my boredom at all.
After eating, i sat on the floor again, feeling more restless than ever, i began to wonder how much longer i would be stuck in this room. The silence in the room was deafening, the only sound was my own breathing, and it made me feel even more isolated and alone.
After a few minutes, the speaker crackles to life again.
"Test subject, you will now be subjected to an experiment." The voice said. A small compartment in the window opened up, and a vial with a clear liquid inside was placed on a tray in front of me.
"Drink this." The voice said, without any further explanation. I drank it, the liquid was cool and tasteless, and had a fruity aftertaste, I swallowed it down, wondering what kind of effect it would have on me. After a few minutes passed, I began to feel a strange sensation in my body, my head felt fuzzy and my vision started to blur. I tried to stand up, but my legs were weak and shaky, and I stumbled, falling to the floor. My body's hot and my mind was clouded, I could barely think straight, the world around me was spinning and I struggled to stay conscious. I let out a low growl, the feeling of heat and dizziness was becoming unbearable, I could feel my heart racing in my chest. Suddenly the speaker crackled again.
"Subject seems to be experiencing side effects, proceeding with the next phase." A Small panel on the wall opened a little bit, revealing a black, oval shaped device. It looked like a very sophisticated version of a collar, with wires and small lights embedded into it. The speaker gave a command.
"Stand up and approach the panel."
With a great deal of effort, I managed to pull myself up off the floor and stumble towards the panel, my legs were shaking and unsteady. As I reach the panel, a robotic arm came out of the wall and grabbed me, holding me in place and secured the collar around my neck. The collar was tight, but not too tight, and it felt cold on my skin. I could feel a slight buzzing sensation coming from it, indicating that it was activated. The robotic arm releases me, and the voice spoke again.
"The collar is now in place. Prepare for the next phase of the experiment" the room is suddenly darkened, and a spotlight Shone down from The ceiling, illuminating a large machine in the centre of the room. The machine was intimidating, with several mechanical arms and strange looking devices attached to it. It was clearly designed for some kind of testing, but what exactly it would do to me was a mystery. The voice instructed me to approach the machine.
"Stand in the centre of the machine and remain still" The voice said. I reluctantly made my way towards the machine, the collar around my neck feeling heavier with each step. The arms of the machine moved as I entered its range, gently but firmly grabbing me and positioning me in the centre of the machine. Once I was in place, the arm held me in a standard position, completely immobile. I was completely at the mercy of the machine and it's operator. The machines heavy arms moved and adjusted various parts of my body, making sure I was properly secured in place. It seemed to be preparing me for some sort of scanner test. A mechanical arm descended from the ceiling, holding along, then tube that was attached to the machine. The tube had a small, glowing bulb at the end, which began to move closer to me. The ball hovered in front of me, admitting a soft, warm light. It was close enough for me to feel the heat radiating from it, and I could hear a buzz coming from this machine. The Bulb slowly moved closer to my chest, it's light shining directly on my skin. The machine was beginning the scan, and I had no idea what it would reveal about me. As it connected with my skin, I felt a strange tingling sensation spread throughout my body. It was as if the machine was analysing every fiber in my being, breaking down my cells and examining them on a molecular level. The scan continued for several minutes, the machines humming growing louder as it worked. I could feel the collar around my neck buzzing even more strongly, almost as if it was feeding information back to the machine. Finally, the bulb lifted from my chest, and the arms from the machine released me, allowing me to stand on my own again. The room fell silent for a moment, as if the machine was processing the information it had gathered from me. The voice spoke up once more, sounding pleased.
"Excellent. The data gathered from the scan is... intriguing. We will now begin phase two of the experiment." The voice said. The spotlight flickered off, and the room was plunged into darkness again. Suddenly, several small, glowing dots appeared on the walls, creating a soft, blue light that illuminated the room just enough for me to see. As my eyes adjusted to the new lighting, I noticed that the glowing dots were arranged in a pattern that resembled a maze. The voice spoke again, explaining the next phase of the experiment.
"You will now navigate through this maze, avoiding the traps and obstacles along the way. Failure to do so will result in... punishment." The dots began to move, forming a path that led through the maze. I could see that there were indeed several traps and obstacles in my way, including laser beams, electric shocks, and spiked walls. I took a step forward, following the path laid out by the dots. As I moved, I had to be careful not to touch any of the traps or trip over any of the obstacles. The maze was challenging, and the collar around my neck was a constant reminder of the consequences of failure. With every step I took, I grew more and more aware of the collars presence. It seemed to tighten slightly, reminding me that it was always watching, always listening, and always ready to deliver punishment if I move from the path. As I navigated through the maze I couldn't help but wonder what would happen if I did fail. The voice had mentioned punishment, but what kind of punishment? The thought of failing made my heart race with fear and anxiety. Finally, after I felt like an eternity of maneuvering through the maze, I reached the end. The path of glowing dots led me to a large, metal door, which opened and let out a loud Creek as I approached it. The door swung open, revealing a large, dark room on the other side. There was no sign of The voice or any other living being. The only thing in the room was a single, imposing chair, sitting in the center. I cautiously entered the room feeling a sense of unease wash over me. The chair looked ominous and foreboding, as if it was waiting for me to take a seat and except whatever fate it had held in store. As I do closer to the chair, the door behind me slammed shut, trapping me inside the room. I was alone now, with no way out and no idea what was going to happen next. The chair seem to beckon me, it's dark, leather surface almost seeming to swallow up the light around it. The room was silent, except for the faint hum of machinery coming from somewhere within the walls. I hesitantly took a seat in the chair, feeling the cold leather against my skin. The moment I did, the collar around my neck buzzed to life, and I heard a mechanical click as it locked into place, holding me in the chair. The color tightened slightly, causing me to gasp in surprise and pain. The hum of machinery grew louder, and I could feel a strange energy building in the room. Suddenly, a bright light flickered to life in front of me, illuminating the room and revealing several cameras and monitors surrounding me. The voice crackle through the speakers once again but this time it was laced with excitement.
"Good. You're exactly where I want you." The voice chuckled, the sound sending shivers down my spine. I could hear the clicking of keys as it types somewhere into a computer.
"Now let's begin the phase of testing, shall we?" The chair began to move, reclining back until I were nearly lying down. I felt a series of straps and restraints wrap around my wrist, ankles, and chest, holding me firmly in place. The lights in the room grew brighter, nearly blinding me. I could feel a strange sensation building within me, as if it was trying to probe my mind. The sensation grew stronger, becoming almost unbearable. It felt as though someone was rifling through my thoughts and memories, shifting through my deepest secrets and fears. I tried to resist, to push the presence out of my mind, but it was no use. The collar around my neck hummed with energy, amplifying the presence and making it even harder to resist. I could feel tears swelling up in my eyes as the presence continued it's invasion. It was like a cold, unyielding hand digging through my soul, tearing apart the most intimate thoughts and desires. Suddenly, the presence withdrew, leaving me gasping for breath and trembling in the chair. The light in the room dimmed, and the hum of the machinery died down to a low hum once more. The voice spoke again, it's tone dripping with satisfaction.
"Excellent. You performed admirably, my little test subject. The data I've gathered from your mind is quite... Fascinating." I could hear the sound of paper shuffling as the voice continued to review the data it had collected from my mind. "So many secrets, so many hidden desires... you're a fascinating subject, I must say. But we're not done yet." The chair reclined even farther, leaving me completely exposed and vulnerable. The room was filled with a soft humming noise, as I could see a bright bluish glow emanating the walls. The humming grew even louder, and the glow from the walls intensified. I could feel a strange energy flowing through the room. Crackling and dancing in the air around me. The energy enveloped me, swirling and twisting around my body. It was almost like being bathed in pure electricity, but there was something more to it. It felt almost... invasive, as if it were seeking out every part of my being. The energy seem to be reaching into the very core of my being, seeking out and simulating every nerve ending in my body. It was an overwhelming sensation, but accelerating and terrifying at the same time. The energy continued to build, the humming and crackling growing louder and more tense. My body was tingling all over, every muscle and fiber alive with sensation. I was gasping for breath now, my body twitching and trembling uncontrollably as the energy continued to insult me. It was as if every nerve ending had been set ablaze, and The sensation was almost unbearable. Just when I thought I couldn't take it anymore, the energy suddenly seized. The room fell silent, and the humming and crackling stopped abruptly. I was left panting and trembling in the chair, my body still buzzing with residual energy. The voice spoke once again, it's tone smug and satisfied.
"Fascinating. Simply fascinating. I knew you would provide me with interesting results, but this... this is beyond my wildest expectations." The voice chuckled softly, clearly enjoying my reaction. "I'm not done with you yet, my little test subject. Far from it. We still have so much more to explore." The room was suddenly plunged into darkness, leaving me alone with my thoughts and the lingering sensation of the energy that had just coursed through my body. I heard the sound of footsteps approaching, growing louder and closer with each passing moment. A single light flicked to life, illuminating a tall, imposing figure standing at the foot of my chair.
