Lost Love

Knocking on the door to the cabin Elizabeth looks at her phone and says “I think this is the right place” then the door swings open with a tall guy with messy black hair and brown eyes standing in the doorway. He's wearing a gray sweatshirt and blue jeans.

“Elisabeth, I’m glad you could make it!” he says cheerfully.

“Hey Miles… America is so different than Canada” Elizabeth smiles, putting away her phone to look at the other guys as she and Miles walk in.

She looks at the living room where the three other guys are on the couch.

She analyzes each one.

You have Oliver, who is wearing a green plaid shirt and pants, has curly, blond hair, light blue eyes, and is reading a book.

His shirt has a pocket in the upper right-hand corner.

He is the definition of a mama's boy.

Next to him is Aiden, who is analyzing Elizabeth with a welcoming smile. He is wearing a tank top with baggy sweatpants and has slightly darker, dirty-blond hair and dark emerald green eyes.

Then, finally, there is Jaden, who has short brown hair and is wearing a faded, black AC-DC t-shirt, and from what she can see, a pair of gym shorts. But it’s hard to tell because he hasn’t even turned around to look at her yet.

On Jaden's upper arm is a tattoo of a snake in the shape of a Treble Clef.

By the time Elizabeth finishes looking at everyone, Miles shuts the door and gives her a spot on the couch.

All of the guys are looking at her. Elizebeth never thought she was necessarily pretty, although people tell her she is.

She has thick brown hair that reaches her elbows and a round face. Her skin is fair, and a few freckles dust her nose.

But what people notice the most about her is her eyes. They're two different shades of blue. One is significantly lighter than the other.

“So, uhhh, Canada, right?” Jaden finally says, still studying Elizabeth.

She nods, grabbing her phone again “umm is anyone up for pizza?”

“I think we bought a pizza earlier. It should be in the freezer…” Aiden remarks.

All the guys nod in agreement as Aiden gets up to make the pizza. Jaden seems irritated at her. Probably for not answering his question.

After a while of watching tv and talking, the pizza is ready, and they sit down at a square table.

Elizebeth sits alone on one side of the table, and Aiden sits across from her. Miles sits on her left while Oliver and Jaden squeeze in on her right.

“Hey Elizabeth” Jaden grins.

“what?” She responds with a mouth full of pizza.

Jaden smirks, “Is it true that Canadians use bags of milk instead of jugs?” 

“WHAT!?” Liz swallows, and her mouth drops.

“just asking” Jaden holds up his hands in defense.

“OF COURSE WE DON’T!” She yells.

“Ahh so the internet lied to me once again” Jaden sighed with genuine disappointment.

The other guys try not to laugh –but fail miserably– and Oliver is the only one not literally dying from laughter.

He simply sighs and goes to drink some water. He lifts the glass and accidentally splashes it on himself and Jaden.

Jaden looks down at his mildly wet clothing. He looks at all of them.

“Excuse me for a sec” Jaden says and stands up.

He grabs Oliver by the collar of his green plaid shirt and drags him into the bathroom.

If she listens closely, Elizabeth can hear the faint noises of the shower turning on.

She excuses herself from the table and walks down to the bathroom.

She opens the door to reveal Jaden literally throwing Oliver into the running water.

“FREE ME YOU JERK” Oliver screams as Jaden locks the shower door with Oliver inside.

“NEVER” Jaden says with his hair drenched. His AC-DC t-shirt is discarded on the floor next to him, revealing his toned muscle.

“Umm, did you lock him in the shower?” Elizabeth inquires with a smirk, trying not to laugh.

“YES AND MY PJS ARE SOAKED” Oliver practically screeches.

“He’s fine…ish” Jaden says with a smirk.

“NO I’M NOT!” Oliver bangs on the clear glass shower door.

“FREE ME” He repeats, his face going red from the heat of the shower.

“jävla helvete” Elizabeth mutters under her breath.

“what did you say?” Jaden's head tilts in curiosity.

“It’s Swedish, you idiot” Elizabeth murmurs, fighting a smile.

“I'M STILL IN HERE!” Oliver tries to block the incoming water with his hand.

“Right…” Elizebeth says with a sigh.

She unlocks the shower doo,  and Oliver tumbles out.

“Can I eat the goddamn pizza now?” Elizabeth says with annoyanc  leaching into her voice.

“No” Jaden says with a smirk.

“I hate you” Elizabeth mutters.

“I know” Jaden grins.

After a while, Jaden says “so… ‘Elizabeth’ is a pretty long name. We need something to call you, like a nickname…How about Liz?”

“Fine… don't call me that too much  though, it's really annoying” she rolls her eyes.

Suddenly, Aiden screeches from the living room

“DAMIT MILES HOW DID YOU BEAT ME AGAIN!?”

“Unicorns and pixie dust” a cocky Miles responds.

“GOD DAMMIT GET OVER HERE” Aiden yells loud enough that the whole forest must've heard him.

“WAIT NO” they hear the screaming sounds of Miles down the hall and in the living room.

“WHAT THE FUCK ARE THEY DOING NOW?!” Liz yells.

She runs into the living room to find Aiden on top of Miles with his fist raised, about to strike.

“STOP IT” she screams at the two.

Aiden reluctantly stands up and steps away, not even offering miles a hand up.

Miles rolls his eyes and pushes off of the ground. He stands next to Aiden in front of the TV that's still displaying the football video game they were playing.

Elizebeth guesses that Miles won considering his smirk and Aiden's angry frown.

“WE CAN'T LEAVE YOU TWO ALONE FOR 5 MINUTES!” she screams with her voice becoming slightly hoarse.

“Stupid Americans” she mutters under her breath.

“Sorry, what was that?” Miles grins, wanting her to admit it.

“Nothing” she deflects.

“Tell me” He crosses his arms.

“No” her eyes narrow in annoyance.

“Yes” he smirks.

“No” She says again, getting pissed off.

“Yes” He says again, getting under her skin.

“Fine…” she says and glares at Miles. “I said, you mother fucking no brain war causing oil seeking libral leading wall making bomb abusing Japan nuking Russia fighting moon landing Middle East abusing tea dumping homicide committing land stealing crayon eating football arguing gun hoarding TikTok banning dakota hanging animal hunting mint sniffing homeless leaving starvation inducing landmine activating tree cutting stupid ass AMERICANS!”.

Everyone gasps and Aiden laughs a little. He smiles, which is a little odd for the situation, and says “Oh shit”. 

Jaden raises an eyebrow and asks “How the actual fuck did you say that in one breath!?” with no response.

Then, after a while, Miles grins and says “oooo Canadian got claws…rawr”

“YOU BITCH” Liz says before she tries to tackle miles but fails due to Aiden and Jaden holding her back. Aiden holds her right arm while Jaden holds her left.

She's happy to see they're struggling to contain her while she glares at miles.

Liz looks at Miles with cold malice in her eyes.

Miles smirks and says “I guess all that maple syrup went to your head”

Liz thinks about ripping out miles’ throat, but instead, she sneers “If you so much as say one more word about me and my country… even the FBI won't find your body”

Miles' eyes widen a bit at that, but– to his credit – he holds his ground as Aiden and Jaden drag her away to the bathroom.

When they get there, Aiden grabs her by the shoulders to keep her from beating Miles’ ass.

Jaden leans against the wall opposite of the door.

“Hey, maybe you should leave for a bit. Just to give you time to cool off” Aiden says, trying to stop her from literally killing miles.

“im FINE” she snaps and lunges in the direction of Miles again.

But after she’s pulled back again by Aiden, he yells at her. He sounds like a military officer. “THAT WASN’T A QUESTION”

“ok GENERAL” Liz says with enough sarcasm for 5 people.

Aiden sighs through his nose but pushes her away with slight aggression. He says “look, Miles is an ass, so don't give him the pleasure of making you angry”

Liz sighs and walks out of the bathroom while sticking her middle finger up at Aiden.

She can hear Jaden laugh a little as she walks away.

She walks through the living room and past Miles. It takes all her willpower not to pounce.

She walks out the front door, gets into her black Tesla, and drives off.
