Chapter 1
At the age of twenty-two, Alexandra had not planned on her life being turned upside down.
She sat by the salon chair, chopping her long brown hair to shoulder length, which matched her eyes.
She was taking her identical twin brother’s place in the hockey team, it felt surreal but what could she do?
Her brother’s name was Alex so that was not a problem. Her brother had fallen ill but hockey was his life.
Everything revolved around it, and her parents made sure she too played it, they liked to give them everything identical so one does not feel left out.
Yet she was not as good as Alex, so she had to improve, or fake it till he became better.
She had decided to take a gap year to see what she wanted to do but this happened, so that was thrown out the window.
Alexandra adored her brother, he was there for her, so doing this for him would be hard but she did not mind.
At least try and if she got caught out, at least Alex would know that she had tried her best.
She looked at herself in the mirror and when she arrived at home Alexandra began packing her bags.
The following morning she sat with her parents for her farewell,
“Honey I know this is a lot for you but please think about your brother, and how this would crush him.” Said her mom.
She nodded, “I know.”
“We are proud of you.” Her dad replied.
“Thank you.”
“You have everything under control?” Her mom asked her.
“Yes, I double-checked everything.”
“If you left something let us know and we will send it to you.” Her father replied.
“I will let you know.”
“We will miss you so much sweetheart.” Her mother added.
“I will miss you too, hopefully, Alex gets better.”
“We got professionals, so your brother should be good to go, hopefully after a month or two.”
“I understand.”
She was going to room with her brother’s best friend Aiden, he knew about what they were going to pull off.
He was the captain so she would be able to get away with it, she boarded her flight and felt very nervous.
After arriving at his campus, she was taking everything in. She made her way to the all-boys dormitory.
She had tied her hair back, her heart beat fast wondering if anyone would stop and question her.
Yet all she got was short greetings, which she just nodded. She had to practice her guy voice more, and Aiden was supposed to help her with that.
She finally reached their room, put in the key, and opened the door. Her eyes widened in shock to find whom she assumed was Aiden.
He fitted the description and the pictures she had seen, a girl was straddling him, and they had been making out.
“Don’t you knock?” The girl asked rudely,
Alexandra was frozen on the spot, not wanting to speak at the same time, she was flustered as to what she was seeing.
“I shut your room door, down the hall.” Aiden let out.
She nodded, closed the door, flew down the hall, and entered her room. She began to unpack her things.
She changed the bedding and left everything else in case some of the guys decided to pop by, hopefully they would not barge in.
Alexandra took a shower, and was tired from the journey, so a nap would help then she would go to the kitchen to get some food.
She wondered when the girl would leave. Or would she have to get used to living like this?
Alexandra jumped awake when there was a knock on the door.
