BLINDED LOVE

Nadine Nala,was under a tall tree that gave a cool shadow , There she sat , she was reading one of Shakespeare's Sonnets the one called sonnet 116 ' LET ME NOT TO THE MARRIAGE OF TRUE MIND ', but then being interrupted by her mother calling her ,she got up immediately , Nadine was kinda lonely at home because her sisters that she used to bond with (Two sisters) are at the University now, and they will come back home when it's a holiday.they're Her two older sisters and his little brother Ken was so fond of playing alone there with his toys ,and her own best friend who she made at her first day at high School (Evine ) left her here with his parents and went to America three years ago . As she got in the house she saw her brother playing with his toys on the floor. Her mother sewing something, she said in a thick voice "prepare for supper, Nadine! "

"Yes , Mama" Nadine said . She did as being told. Later on they were eating and Ken was talking asking questions that annoyed Nadine as she said with a bored face ."stop asking me weird questions Ken !"

"Nadine , don't be hard on your brother." Her mother said.

"Argh!,fine then , but just don't ask me weird staff , okay?" . Ken grinned and nod as he said

"Tell me , from where a chicken came —?"

"Ken ! " Nadine exclaimed, Then seeing his adorable face and curious eyes, she said.

"Argh, fine , I don't know okay, perhaps from an egg"

"Where do eggs come from—?"

"–FROM , chicken's butt— !"

"–NADINE! " Her mother said with a thick voice.

"Mama that's the answer I certainly must give"

"Okay , you know what, Ken why don't you go and play , huh , then after you finished I'll make you an ice cream"

"Okay, Mom "He said grinning.

"Well , I'm tired , I'll have a nap"said Nadine , departing the room

"Ah-ah"her mother said her eyes fixed on sewing.

Nadine went to her bedroom and then threw herself on the bed , then fell asleep. Tommorow morning she woke up brushed teeth ate her breakfast and had some shower , her brother Ken was sitting on his mother's lap playing with her hair that clung on her eyebrow . She was sewing as usual her scarf, although carrying a letter, Nadine intended to ask what it says but her mother told her before she even said a word. "It's from my boss, she's looking forward to doing something about my working days, I might work for two months."

"Now?"

"I don't know, but certainly not now." "That'll do."Nadine said with a smile

Later Nadine was in her bedroom, reading the book. And her little brother came in the room , and stood in front of the door . Nadine closed her book and said to Ken ."Why are you just standing there ? , come in"

Ken walked in , with little anxiety on his face ."I'm bored!"

"Ohw, come here "Nadine said with a little concern . He did so, sitting next to Nadine on Nadine's bed , then rested his head on Nadine's shoulder he said lifting his eyelids."I wonder how will I be like when I'm older?"

"What?" said Nadine. "It's just that I'm six years old, and I'll have to wait so many years to be at your age, you're sixteen years old , tha-that's many years to come , right?"he asked.

Nadine laughed, and then she caress his cute dark brown face then she said well "don't worry time's fast , you'll grow up faster without even noticing."

"Is it nice to grow and get older ?"

Nadine thought, Ken always asks absurd questions, though , he's just a kid . She grinned shortly,then said In a muffled voice."I-I ....I don't know , But you'll grow and you'll see yourself.I don't want to scare you.though..."

"That's not the answer I was expecting"

"What then?"Nadine said.

"I don't know, some say growing up is hard "

"Who says that?"

"Mom's friend,when I was asked her, mom said ' Ken stop asking weird questions' and I thought I only wanted to know"

"Why are you so curious?"

Ken shrugged his shoulders only grinning. "You know you're just a kid, you don't know a lot of things, but you'll grow and see and then know."

"Things like what?"Ken said.

"Like .... how clothes where made.."

"I already know that"Ken informed her.

"Well , like..I don't know, perhaps, where food goes to when you swallow it ."

"It goes through the mouth and to your belly ."

"Yeah, yeah, but when you're old enough you'll know lot of things you don't know now."Nadine said rolling her eyes only smiling.

Ken nodded , grinning. He saw Nadine's book and said . "What are you reading?" "Shakespeare's Sonnets."

"Who's Skakepea ?"

"Not Shakepea , Shakespeare , he's an English poet ." Nadine informed.

"What's a poet?"Ken inquired.

Nadine took a deep breath, then said "It's a person who writes, poems like:Sonnets, lyrics and so on."

"What's a sonnet?"Ken inquired with deep curiosity.

Nadine said biting her lower lip."you know what?, let's go to the kitchen I'll make you biscuits and hot chocolate milk"

"Really?, well how did you know I'm starting to feel famished.?"he said brushing his belly.

"I know you , now go first to the kitchen and I'll meet you there"

Ken left , Now Nadine was fixing her thiafro hair and was washing her dark brown face and hands.
