Chapter 2
Title: the murder of redemption
Chapter 2
A small but tidy office. Aman sits at his desk, flipping through the file. The name on the file reads MEERA SHARMA. Her photo—a smiling woman in her 30s—is clipped to the corner.
DR. KAPOOR (40s), a senior doctor with an air of authority, enters abruptly.
DR. KAPOOR
(serious)
Aman, we need to move forward with the procedure.
AMAN
(looking up)
But her vitals aren’t stable. It’s too risky.
DR. KAPOOR
(cutting him off)
We don’t have time for doubts. If this trial succeeds, it could save lives. Think of the bigger picture.
Aman hesitates, conflicted.
AMAN
(softly)
What if something goes wrong?
DR. KAPOOR
(pressing)
Then it’s on me. But if you stall, it’s on you.
Dr. Kapoor leaves, leaving Aman alone with his thoughts. He stares at Meera’s photo, guilt creeping into his expression.

EXT. CITY STREETS – PRESENT DAY – NIGHT
Aman walks briskly, trying to avoid the stares of passersby. He’s paranoid, looking over his shoulder every few steps.
He pulls out his phone and sees a message:
“The truth will catch up to you.”
His breathing quickens. He deletes the message and pockets the phone.

INT. ROHAN’S APARTMENT – NIGHT
Rohan sits in his dimly lit apartment, staring at a wall covered in photos, files, and newspaper clippings about Westview Medical Institution. Red strings connect various people in the photos, including Aman and Dr. Kapoor.
There’s a knock at the door. Rohan grabs a knife from the table and approaches cautiously.
ROHAN
(through the door)
Who is it?
VOICE (O.S.)
(urgent)
Rohan, it’s me. Open up.
Rohan recognizes the voice. He opens the door to reveal PRIYA (30s), a sharp and determined detective.
PRIYA
(stepping inside)
You’re not answering my calls. What’s going on?
ROHAN
(closing the door)
I’m handling it.
PRIYA
(angrily)
Handling it? People are dead, Rohan. How far are you willing to go?
Rohan turns away, refusing to meet her gaze.
ROHAN
(coldly)
As far as it takes
