Chapter 1: a Strange Noise in the Hallway.
On a clear and starry night in the serene town of Bridgehampton, Katherine Miller was nestled comfortably underneath her bedcovers and plush comforter, drifting into a peaceful slumber in her bedroom within the secluded confines of a gated neighborhood. At 33 years old, standing 5 feet 7 inches tall with shoulder-length blonde hair and piercing blue eyes, Katherine had entrusted her 3-year-old toddler son to the care of her elderly parents for the night. Suddenly, a peculiar sound roused her from her peaceful rest. It mimicked the gentle cadence of footsteps. Startled, Katherine's gaze fixed upon the doorway of her bedroom, where she discerned the silhouette of a young girl moving back and forth outside. The child playfully bounced a small ball along the hallway floor, casting eerie shadows in the stillness of the night.
Katherine inquired, "Hello, is someone there?" Yet, silence was her only companion as no response echoed back.
In the dimly lit hallway, the shadow of the little girl whimsically bounced the small toy ball with a repetitive rhythm. Katherine's dread escalated as she stood up from the bed, enrobed in nothing but underwear and a sleek satin nightgown. With cautious steps, she advanced toward the bedroom door, her heart pulsating rapidly with uncertainty. Taking in her surroundings, Katherine spotted the mischievous shadow of a playful little girl, but in a swift shift of events, a sinister and ominous shadow of a Demon materialized out of thin air. The abrupt manifestation left Katherine paralyzed with terror, her breath caught in the grip of fear.
Suddenly, a forceful gust of wind burst in unexpectedly, taking Katherine Back by surprise and flinging her against the bedroom wall. Without warning, she found herself cascading backward onto the bed, her eyes slowly closing in a daze. As she began to drift off into a profound slumber, a dark silhouette loomed over her, gliding across her body as if to consume her whole.
