The Secret of the Inheritance
Mia, an ordinary literature student, visits her grandmother's old house to claim her inheritance after her passing. However, among the old belongings, she discovers an object that will change her life forever - a mysterious pocket watch.
"The winter wind was cold, and a light rain fell as Mia stood in front of her grandmother's old house. The house, with peeling paint on its windows and a garden overgrown with weeds, looked exactly as she remembered it from her childhood - a little sad, but somehow magical."
"I don't know why Grandma chose me for this," Mia murmured as she searched for the keys in her bag.
After unlocking the door, the scent of aged wood and lavender engulfed her. The walls were lined with pictures, books were stacked everywhere and on the table in the living room sat a wrapped package with a note on top.
"To my dearest Mia. Time always knows the way."
Mia paused, clutching the paper in her hand. She didn't understand what her grandmother's words meant, but she felt compelled to find out.
She untied the package and found a pocket watch. It was antique, golden and engraved with an unusual inscription: "Time is love." When she opened it, she saw two pointers inside - one red, one blue - moving in opposite directions.
"What secrets are you hiding, little strange watch?" Mia murmured, sitting down on the floor to examine it.
That evening, Mia continued exploring her grandmother's belongings. She found old journals, photographs and books abound legends and time. The watch stayed in her hands almost the entire time, as if it had a magnetic pull.
In a moment of curiosity, she uttered the word: "Return." The watch's pointers suddenly began spinning backward. The air in the room grew pulling her body backward. Everything around her blurred in an instant.
When she opened her eyes, she was in the same living room, but something felt off. She looked out the window and realized it was morning again.
"But... it was evening just a moment ago," she said aloud. Mia checked her phone - the date now showed the previous day.
Shocked, Mia realizes she has traveled back in time by one day. She still holds the watch in her hands, its pointers now motionless. She exhales loudly as her thoughts race: What are you, watch? How is this even possible?
