Posh, Drama, and Romance
"Ashlee is an intelligent and determined entrepreneur with whom two dashing (and very wealthy) Korean men fall in love. The story is a bit cliche, but also original in its own way. Ashlee's intelligence and decisiveness really shine through. Rather than being swept away by the wealth and good looks of her suitors, she makes careful choices and proceeds with caution - a rare thing to see in this kind of novel, so it was appreciated!! I will say, the story overall isn't my cup of tea. The storytelling is too rushed for my slow-burn-and-soak-it-in tastes, spending less time than I would like really getting into scenes, emotions, and character nuance. Additionally, the characters aren't quite what I look for in a drama/romance novel. Ashlee is an incredible character, but her fellow cast can't hold a candle to her. Park Jun-Suk (Jun-Suk Park?) is bad-tempered and rather annoying in his failure to take cues. His competition in the love triangle has 5x all his bad traits. Candace is the sweetest, kindest, nicest possible best friend in the whole wide world, but that's really all she is. She has no story, no background, nothing really going on in her life beyond Ashlee. All that being said, this would be an excellent read for someone who enjoys a fast-paced Cali-Girl romance with low-to-no-spice and plenty of drama. I really, REALLY hope this novel reaches its target audience, because the author is clearly talented and this would be such a find to the right people! (Author, please hang in there. The algorithm is cruel, but it will get it right eventually!)"
