She was a force to be reckoned with, even before she went rogue. Before she went... mad.

Nobody seems to be able to remember what her name was back then--not even herself. But one thing is for sure: everyone in the shadows of the underground, those who lurk in the dark alleyways, the vile and evil cretins of society, they all know her by her current name now.

Lady Raven. The sound of it sends shudders down the spines of even those who think they're the toughest brutes around. Because they all know, even if they try to convince themselves otherwise, that it's only a matter of time before she comes for them, too...

It's the year 3396. Earth had crumbled nearly to a desolate wasteland after World War III and the planet's population had been nearly entirely obliterated.

Only after the remaining few hundred thousand people began to genetically experiment a way out of the fertility complications that the nuclear radiation caused, did the population start to recover.

But things were still drastically different from the way life had been before. Not just because of the dystopian wasteland that Earth had become, or the "freaks of nature" that were born from the genetic mutations, both from the engineering as well as the radiation...

...but the remaining semblance of the government had changed, too. And not for the better.

The world was ruled by a single group of elites now, and the people under them had almost no freedom whatsoever. They were nearly told when and if they could so much as take a shit, and those who upheld the laws would enforce them with brutal - and sometimes fatal force.

...and she used to be one of the highest ranking enforcers.

She was in one of the top secret branches of the world government responsible for global monitoring of the civilian population. She was a highly trained and highly capable... Executor, to put it simply.

Her and her squadron would do what they do to those who the government deemed unworthy to continue living: execute them. Without question, and without judgement. And, if not for the oppressive command of the government, she would have been the leader of her squadron.

However, she was also a scientist of sorts, who dabbled in not only technology but also trying to harness the corruptive power of the radiation that sickened the planet. And many believe that's what caused the figure that she is known as now to be born.

But the real truth lies somewhere between that... and the last target that the government ordered her to execute.

The poor boy was just trying to save his dying planet. Experimenting on what little uncorrupted plant life he could find, desperately wanting to find a way to replenish and restore life for the Earth.

But that would pose a threat to the government, for if life began anew, they couldn't control the population's food supply, their medicines, their spaces with clean air to breathe... They would lose their control over the people.

So they deemed him a threat and ordered her to end it.

But she found out the cold, hard truth about her government when she saw what he was trying to do.

And...

...she snapped.

She went rogue.

She went mad.

Mad at the lies she had been fed nearly since birth.

Mad that she had been led on by those she thought had the population's best interests in mind.

Mad that she had been used by them to kill... She didn't even know how many innocent people. In a world that was still reeling from nearly being wiped to extinction as it was.

...so she turned.

On them.

On the government.

On the scum who lived in the shadows of vile lies and cruelty and evil.

They became her new targets.

And they were not prepared for

the monster

they had created.

Ku_Rolet: The novel was good, and I really enjoyed reading it. I love the leads and their bond, but I have one question that confused me. How could Tristan have been dreaming about his mate since he was a child if Omara was already mated to someone else before him? If Kyle had accepted Omara, would Tristan ne...
